Home is in excellent condition. Recent updating of kitchen and bathrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains from large porch in a quiet neighborhood. Location is great for access to Boone and Blowing Rock. Blue Ridge parkway is 10 min ride. Very convenient for shopping and eating out.
This was a lovely place to spend a week with our adult family members during the holidays. The place was spotless, the beds comfortable, and the kitchen well-equipped. You do have to drive a couple of miles of twisty mountain roads to get there, but the view from the back of the house (decks on the main and upper floors!) was incredible. Loved the fireplaces, too!
The property has a great location. The view is fantastic and the configuration of
the home allows for privacy for guests. The lower floor provides a full kitchen. Blowing rock, Boone and the Blueridge Parkway are minutes away. Great spot for your mountain vacation.
House and location were wonderful. House was very clean, kitchen well stocked, and morning view watching sun rise was incredible. Owner was very helpful and was very responsive. Do yourself a favor and stay here.
This was a great house for a family getaway, plenty of space with separate living areas and rec room. The house was updated, clean and well-maintained, it had great mountain views, and the location is tough to beat: just a few short minutes to 321, and from there it's a quick drive to either Boone or Blowing Rock, or even quicker to hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an updated mountain experience.
I have been renting from vrbo for over 15 years. This is the best property I have ever stayed at. The house is very clean and the view of the mountains is just unbelievable. It is very light and bright with windows everywhere to see the Awsome view the property is only five minutes from downtown blowing rock. If I could give this property 10 stars I would
We stayed at this property due to its proximity to the ski resort and it did not disappoint! There was plenty of room for both our families which included 6 kids total. It was clean and easily accessible with plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area. Thank you Sharon for your excellent communication during and after our stay! We look forward to going back! Happy Holidays!
Our family of four met some friends of ours, another family of four, at Appalachian Ski Mountain for a ski weekend. The house was REALLY spacious and allowed enough room for kids and adults to all spread out. The kitchen is massive and has all items you could possibly need to prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The location is only a few minutes from the ski resort which was great for making those early lift times. Overall we really enjoyed the home and can’t wait to go back to Boone and App ski mountain.
We had the best experience with this property & the hosts! The location was conveniently located between Boone & Blowing Rock, easy to access, gorgeous long range mountain views, everything labeled, prompt/easy communication with the host & all of the extra touches that made our stay easy. The kitchen had plenty of space for our group to cook in - & had all of the cooking/baking/utensil supplies you don’t often find in vacation rentals - plenty of wooden spoons, spatulas, measuring spoons/cups, baking dishes/pans, crock pot, spices, cooking spray, plenty of dish towels, etc. So well stocked. And the communication with the host was great. Super responsive & flexible.
What a beautiful view. We loved the views form the numerous balconies off the lovely Ski Mountain Spacious Home. The home works well for two families, with large rooms, plenty of beds, sizeable bathrooms, as well as a primary and secondary kitchen. The entry/exit with lockbox on the doors was smooth and efficient. Cons: we were required to bag up ALL trash (not just recycling) and take it by car to a trash center. However, the trash center was not open the last two days of our three day stay, making the experience highly frustrating. When we texted the property manager, we did not get a response. The lack of trash pickup is unusual, as we have stayed in numerous VBRO homes in the neighborhood and always had standard trash practices (leaving bagged trash in the external trash cans). Second challenge, the dishwasher broke on the first day and we were relegated to hand washing everything, as the property manager indicated it was a holiday weekend. Lastly, there were some more minor things that felt like unnecessary cost-cutting: not including starter supply of mini shampoo/conditioner in the bathrooms, older sagging mattresses, etc. Those are minor details that were certainly outweighed by the nice space and flow of the home and the incredible views. The owners have been very positive in communications.
We had such a wonderful weekend at Blue Spruce Overlook! The house had plenty of space for our group of 8 adults. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and well appointed. We cooked meals at the house all weekend and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The views are incredible and the location is perfect...10-15 minutes to Boone and Blowing Rock but you are at the top of the mountain and feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the towns. The host is very responsive and puts lots of nice touches throughout the house to make it an overall great experience. I would highly recommend this house. In fact, we've already booked a return trip for next year!
The home did not disappoint. If anything, it was better than the photos online. Very spacious bedrooms, bathrooms & plenty of seating. We had family in from England and our nieces chose their own rooms. 6 of us total. The youngest one chose the room with the bunk beds & proceeded to enjoy the downstairs kitchen - I think they felt grownup having their own space. The kitchen had everything - we even made a cake using one of 2 Bundt pans. The three decks allowed us to enjoy the views (especially the sunrise’s) while enjoying a cup of coffee. The home is close to both Boone & Blowing Rock - both with really nice downtown. More in Boone since there is also a large university there. If you ski the ski lifts are walking distance from the house. We spent our days hiking over at Blue Ridge Parkway (Tanawha Trails) and Elk Knob Trail. Check with the visitors center in Blowing Rock (the lady there was super nice). There are still some trails that are closed. There is also a place called River Girls in Todd, NC where we rented kayaks & canoes. Really lovely time on the river. The house was the perfect base for all our outdoor activities. However we did decide to use half day to rest & that’s when we realized how truly comfortable it was with all the space & lovely & comfy furnishings. We’d definitely go back! Highly recommend staying here. Great memories for our nieces since it was their first time to America.

Such a gorgeous home in a peaceful neighborhood that we walked around each evening toward dusk and always saw 2 or 3 deer. We had one deer peering in the kitchen window one day!
Everything was clean, super comfortable (beds and furniture), with wonderful early morning sunrises to enjoy. Loved all 3 decks too! This is our second stay at this property and we'll definitely be back!
Great place for get togethers with friends and families. Different floors for different groups. Lots of opportunities for games and walking, plus a beautiful balcony for eating and viewing the mountains. Wonderful local activities like hikes and walking around the small city of Blowing Rock. Grandfather Mountain was great. Bass lake and Boone ’s Greenway trail were fun. Hope I get to come again.
The house was great. Beautifully renovated kitchen with all the amenities (including a great frig with two diff ice). The best part was the large deck with an awesome sunrise view of distant mountain peaks there was plenty of room for our family at the college graduation. we especially enjoyed the pool table in the basement
