This is a beautiful place tucked away in the mountains with excellent amenities and reaponisve hosts. I felt that it was a bargain, given the quality of the stay.
We loved our stay at Knotty Bear Cabin! The property was beautiful and the house had lots of little extras! The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. Bret and Sheri have compiled a comprehensive binder with everything you need to know about the house. It was a perfect location for exploring Rocky Mountain. Communication beforehand with Bret was excellent, and Brian was very helpful during our stay. We highly recommend a stay at this cabin.
If you are looking for the perfect mountain retreat for a group. This is the place. The host is top notch! His property is 5 star! A lot of love has been put into this place. We wish we could of stayed longer! Thank You for sharing your slice of heaven!

Thanks for your amazing review Justin! It thrills us to know that you enjoyed our place as much as we do. You are welcome back anytime the mountains call:)
We were welcomed at the home upon our arrival by Brian and his wife. He is a friend of the homeowners. He was very kind and courteous as he showed us the property and explained how to use some of the amenities. The home is older, but has the perfect cabin feel we were wanting. It has numerous updates the the kitchen, showers, and master bath. The most notable things about this property are the new spa and the beautiful creek that is in the property. The creek is a short 2-3 minute walk down the hill from the house. It is wonderful, and we spent a lot of time there. You can hear the relaxing sound of the creek anytime you are outside or open a window of the house. Our communication with Bret and Brian was always met with a quick response. The house is only a short drive from Estes Park, but far enough to feel removed from the city. There is one house very near this home, but they were very quiet and we never interacted with them during our stay. We all enjoyed our stay here, and would do it again. It was the perfect time of year, as the aspens were just starting to change color. There is an access road to Rocky Mountain National Park almost directly across the street! We would stay here again given the opportunity

We took our family of 12 & 2 dogs, we all loved it! Having the river to walk down to was awesome and our 2 Granddaughters loved the 2 swing chairs by the river. We highly recommend it if you like a nice peaceful place.
This place is amazing! A beautiful house and property in the perfect location. We hiked out of wild basin, which is literally right across the street. We hiked in the RMNP. We spent time in Estes Park, Lyons and had breakfast at a great little place in Allen’s Park. Our kids loved walking down to the river and playing outside. Overall, it was a great week for our family of 12. Bret was a great host and Brian met us when we arrived to show us around. I would highly recommend this place to others. Thank you!
Excellent spacious property with lots of TLC. The wooded setting is beautiful. Perfect for our group of 9. Everything was clean and tidy. The patio area and grill were an added bonus. We spent a lot of time there enjoying the hummingbirds! I would highly recommend!!

About the host
Hosted by Bret and Sheri
My wife and I are high school sweethearts coming up on 40 years of marriage to each other. We have always had an attraction for the mountains spending every vacation here in Colorado until finally we were able to move here in 1999. Our quest for a mountain home lasted almost 20 years and we looked at hundreds of properties. It is almost impossible to find property in a totally private setting with a view of the continental divide and your own private river, but after 20 years...God blessed us with this property. We spend every day that the weather allows us outdoors on our deck, in our mountain flower garden, or down by the river. We both have the gift of hospitality and love to share our home with family and friends. It is our desire that all who come and stay here will appreciate the beauty and majesty of our mountain paradise, and that they would make memories that last their lifetime.
Why they chose this property
Pine forest, mountains in all directions, roaring river to soothe the soul and put you to sleep at night! We are close to Peak to Peak highway for convenience yet far enough away that we don't see or hear very much traffic. We are at approximately 8500 feet in elevation so the Summer temperatures are generally very pleasant, cool enough in the evenings that the hot tub is always very inviting.
What makes this property unique
Privacy including your own private river walk where we have a bench, hammock, swinging chair, and four place table and chairs for "river" enjoyment. Being 11 miles from Estes Park is perfectly close enough to hop in and enjoy the shopping, entertainment, and everything touristy, YET far enough away to "get away from it all" and feel like you own the mountains around you.
