Extended family gathering

Beautiful yard for kids to play. The screed porch and floors could have been cleaner upon our arrival. The kitchen was very well stocked and allowed a great cooking and gathering space. We did not find any Propane grill on site even though we thought that we had seen the propane grill noted in the listing for a summer stay. Finally the fishing dock was great and we were able to catch a lot of bluegill however, I wouldn’t call it a beach area as it was just basically an 4’x 8’ area of sand next to the water. The pavilion was beautiful and allowed a great space to just hang out.

Perfect home for large groups

This house was clean, spacious and fun! We had a group of 12 and there was plenty of room to spread out. Foosball, air hockey and pool in the basement! A hot tub outside and room to play corn hole! We spent half a day at the lake with the canoe and kayaks! We used the fireplace on chili nights and there was enough room for all of us to gather around the huge dining room table! Thanks for a great stay!!

Girls Like to Have Fun!

Mothers, sisters & daughters gathered from across the country for a long weekend at your beautiful lodge. Scott Lodge exceeded our expectations with multiple places to visit including a well stocked kitchen, 2 family rooms - one with grand fireplace that was shared with one of 2 screened porches, a fire pit, & a fun room on the lower level that overlooked a yummy, warm bubbly oversized hot tub . There was plenty of room for food in 2 full sized fridges+ half size and a large dining area to share our meals. We appreciated the 7 adorable, immaculate bedrooms, each with sink & shower - a great escape for a quick nap & sound sleep on comfy beds. Ample parking was available. We hiked the nearby forest just outside the back door with trails clearly marked, birds singing , geese walking babies and a few deer sited too. Our Host Elizabeth was very accommodating. She responded quickly to questions, offered suggestions for nearby activities and checked on us daily through text. We did not have enough time to do everything we planned so we hope to visit again. If you are looking for a beautiful home for a group to gather, look no further. Scott Lake is perfect!

Family Trip

We had 7 couples. There were 7 bedrooms - all had their own bathroom, except one set of bedrooms shared a (jack-and-jill) bathroom; but there were additional bathrooms in the house if needed. The large living room area, outside deck, and screened in porch(es) were great places to hang out. Game room downstairs was fun. Nice big kitchen and island. Extra fridge in basement and mini fridge in kitchen were very nice to have. Most everything you could need was supplied. We did need to call the property manager to have the propane tank swaped out, so if you plan to grill might be something to check when you first get there. Big back yard to set up corn hole or other yard games. Didn't do much in actual Pullman, but took day trips to South Haven and Saugatuck which were only about 20 mins each. Some of the group wished it was right on the water, but I think if it was we wouldn't have gone and done other things we did. Overall - great place and location and we would definitely book again!

Loved all the seating, bedrooms and bathrooms for our family of 4 couples 1. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit several nights each. The big negative was the very poor internet. Hard to believe there's nothing better in 2025.

Kitchen facilities outstanding. We were able to have home cooked meals all week! It was great to sit us all at the dining table 3 Check-in simple and easy, just had to wait for code even after asking for it to be released earlier in the day and was supposed to have it by 4 but didn’t. House was amazingly roomy and comfy, allowing for private time and family time. Disappointed in the enclosed porches, the front particularly was full of large cobwebs. And a couple of the beds were full of sand so we wondered about the cleaning fee. We enjoyed our stay overall, using the luxury of the hot tub, game room, trails and fire pit. Disappointed in the private lake access. Little! sand spot, not really for swimming and didn’t feel safe with how the place was fenced. Surrounding cities and Lake Michigan close for visits. Do note, if looking for quiet location, this is not it. The town is very small but the road is extremely busy.

Space for family time

We had a wonderful time together as an extended family in your home. There were several spaces for us to spread out for games and talking, and none of us wanted to leave! The kitchen was perfect for our foodie family, and the back deck was lovely at all times of the day. We especially enjoyed the fire pit! Lots of things nearby to explore, while some of us loved just relaxing at the house. Thank you!

This home was perfect for our family of ten adults and four little ones. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms; well stocked kitchen where we could prepare meals; a dining table that allowed us all to gather for those meals; basement games and a hot tub for entertainment; and the lake access worked well. Check in was easy, and the property manager responded very quickly to the few questions we had during our stay. All was great!!

Great spacious backyard with trails, a pond and fire pit. The house is on a busier road than we had anticipated. The house is spacious and the kitchen area well stocked. The property manager is very prompt in responding to needs as well as very informative of the area. The lake access is close to the house and great for fishing but very disappointing in what was listed as a “beach”.

Great Stay in a Great Spot

We had a great stay in Pullman! The house was perfectly located—peaceful and secluded, yet close enough for easy day trips to the beaches in South Haven. Family Reunion

This property worked really well for our three-generation family reunion. With eight adults and eight young children, it was wonderful to have so many bedrooms and bathrooms, not to mention a good variety of spaces to play games, make puzzles, read, or just sit and visit. The large, well-stocked kitchen, second fridge and extra-large dining table were also much appreciated. The trail through the woods made for a lovely walk, especially in the snow. We would definitely consider rebooking for a future reunion.

We loved this cabin. We were in the trees which we loved and it is a short drive to the highway to go sightseeing and visiting local towns. We have five different couples and we enjoy not sharing a bathroom. We are booking this house again for next year. We loved the big table for dinner together and game playing.

Fantastic property. Everyone enjoyed our stay. We took several rides into Saugatuck and Meijers was relatively close in South Haven for groceries. Crane’s U-pick was great. We all did projects at the Art Barn. The kids had a blast at Lake Arvesta. Dinner at the Grill house in Allegan was awesome.

Wow !

After many weeks of searching for the house that would meet all our requirements, we settled on this house. Not only did it meet all our requirements....it was even better than we hoped it would be. It was the perfect place to celebrate with family. We loved the back yard, the lovely forest-like surrounding, the fire pit, the kitchen, the many places in the home that provided all sorts of opportunities for our family. The deck was another favorite. We ate many of our meals out there all seated at once. The younger set loved the lower level with pool table, etc. We even appreciated the 3 trash containers instead of just one. It was a memorable week spent in the perfect place for us.

Just Perfect! Spacious and Beautiful!

We loved this house. Our family stays at a different rental home each year and this house received RAVE reviews. There is ample common area spaces, where folks could sit and chat, play games, cook together, hot tub, or enjoy a game of catch in the back yard. The bedrooms each had a private bathroom - a huge hit! The kitchen had everything we needed, and we cooked almost every meal. We rented kayaks for a few days. We enjoyed those, and the complimentary canoe (did some fishing here and there). Excellent communication with the propery manager - would highly recommend!

Great place to have a retreat!

We had a wonderful friends retreat here. The way the house gives outdoor spaces, as well as two different indoor spaces helps people gather and enjoy time apart. The kitchen also was very well equipped with tools and space. Finally the setting Sun is just spectacular over the lake. Would 100% recommend.

About the host

Hosted by Elizabeth Kosten

Host profile image
I was raised in southwest Michigan, in the Grand Rapids area, and I have always reveled in the natural beauty to be found here in our Great Lakes State. I just love being near the water, so any chance I get to be near a lake is a perfect opportunity for me to relax and unwind. I hope you get to know our beautiful state when you stay with us, because to know it is to love it!

Why they chose this property

I was immediately drawn by the natural beauty of the lake and its environs — not to mention the extensive outdoor activities and peaceful surroundings. Since then, I have made it a priority to spend as many summer weekends in the area as I can.

What makes this property unique

This home was conceived and built specifically to cater to large groups and families who want to escape the mad rush of daily life and spend time growing closer to one another while experiencing all the tranquility and enjoyment that "life in the country" has to offer. We have worked to provide a balance of comfort, functionality, charm, unity, and fun throughout our home and grounds. We even designed our outdoor spaces to provide maximum opportunities for gathering together to enjoy good meals and good conversation. We sincerely hope that the calming forest views from the screened porch and woods-facing deck will inspire and relax you as much as they do us. We love creating welcoming spaces that draw you in with their charmingly-decorated rooms designed with great care, and our greatest desire is to see you return year after year so you can continually create memorable moments with those you love.
