About this property

Pet Friendly Home at Purgatory - Decks with Amazing Views - Steps to Lifts

Our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath 2,300 square foot residence is one of the very few private homes located at the base of Purgatory and offers convenience in all seasons.

The residence features covered decks off the Main Living Space and Master bedroom with amazing views of the Needles Range and Spud Mountain and is very short walk to the slopes.

Bed Configuration (All bedrooms are upstairs and have TVs):

Master bedroom - King (TV) Second Floor
2nd bedroom - King (TV) Second Floor
3rd bedroom - Queen and Twin (TV) Second Floor
Loft - Twin (TV) Third Floor

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Please note that, like most properties at Purgatory, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the low 50s.

Warm and comfortable

The property was well maintained and with the radiant floor heating system, it was toasty warm (too warm in one area until we finally found the thermostat location for that area). The walk to the ski lift was fairly short and easy.

Great Location for Skiing

The property is as pictured and described. Worked great for our family and is fully stocked with cookware, utensils etc.to cook meals. There were even plenty of spices to use. The views from balcony and windows are beautiful.The Durango Hot Springs are really good as well. Family and Adult only areas. Highly recommend.If you are snow skiing, description says a few steps from lift. Know that you will walk a little over a 100 yds down street to the bridge, walk down a small hill a few yds to put on your skis to ski down to the lift. You can use the ticket kiosk to get pre-purchased lift tickets if you have the QR code. You are able to ride lift up to the base without one to get tickets. If you have small children, those that can't carry their own equipment in ski boots, or people not able to ski get in your car and drive to the ski parking lots.

Not clean but great location and views

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was nice but upon arrival we were met with bird poop from the swallows all over the porch and front door and dirty master bed linens. Granted this likely made me more aware of things like dirty bathroom walls and cobwebs but regardless it could use a good scrub. I do realize swallows are protected but I also know that bird waste is not safe. It should have been cleaned prior to our coming...it was a lot. We did tell the rental company and they were unable to clean the bird droppings and bring linen while we there. They did reach out and give us a discount.

We are sincerely sorry that the home was not perfectly clean prior to your arrival. This is not at all consistent with our normal standards and will be brought up with our housekeeping team. The swallows are a problem in the entire area (it's why Purg broadcasts that special bird call recording) as it is their nesting season. We are so glad you called us with these issues so we could come and clean the droppings and bring you fresh linens. We were happy to provide the discount for the inconvenience you dealt with and we wholeheartedly agree the droppings should also have been cleaned prior to your arrival. We're glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise and we do hope you come stay with us again soon!

If I had a choice, this would be the only agency through which I would ever book. Well stocked kitchen- you will not want for anything (I’ve never seen a salad spinner as part of the collection), great appliances, outstanding cookwareClean, clean, clean - how a house that size (that’s pet friendly) is kept as clean as it was is miraculous Great towels, and plenty of them; comfortable beds, and plenty of blankets and throws that are plush and clean. You will never run out of hot water and we appreciated how well the tubs and showers drained (it’s the little things). Also, no shortage of tissue boxes throughout the house.Views! The pictures don’t do the amazing views justice.No lengthy check out list; we’ve been to several rentals where we spent an hour completing all the expected tasks for check out. Not here.10/5!!!

Incredible location and views

We loved our stay here! The views are just amazing, and the proximity to the base is hard to beat. We had a couple of questions (good to know for future renters: you are only able to use the cookware at the house or the stovetop won’t work), and we received helpful, quick responses both times. Lots of room, well-stocked, and the fireplace is great on chilly days and nights.

Great views - what more needs said?

Loved our stay in this lovely home. 3 weeks. Very well appointed. Property manager responded quickly and well to a minor (maybe phantom) plumbing issue. Much appreciated. When we tried to vacuum ourselves, both vacuum cleaner bags were stuffed… that is pretty minor. We absolutely loved the place and will be back next summer
