This place looks even better than what we have seen from the pictures. Everything within the property was very well maintained, organized and cozy. Paul and Chuck put a lot of hard work and love into this place. They included everything that was needed for a comfortable stay in an outdoors cabin, even things you wouldn't have considered in the first place. We were searching for a place to take a break from the city's atmosphere(the sound, the people, etc) and this place answered our needs for that. If we could keep this place a secret we would, but it would not be fair to Paul and Chuck.

About the host

We created Fernwood Lodge as a place to slow down and reconnect. Living in New York, we value the contrast between a busy life and quiet time in nature, and Fernwood was thoughtfully designed to offer that balance. We are hands on owners who care deeply about the experience of our guests. From the artistic details inside the cabin to the peaceful outdoor spaces, everything was created with comfort, privacy, and intention in mind. We love hosting guests who appreciate quiet mornings, shared meals, and evenings around the fire under the stars.

Why they chose this property

We chose Glen Spey for its natural beauty, privacy, and access to the outdoors. The property is surrounded by forest and located near the Delaware River, offering a peaceful rural setting without feeling completely remote. The area is known for scenic drives, hiking, river activities, and a slower pace of life. What we love most is the sense of quiet here. It feels tucked away, yet it is still within reach of local towns, restaurants, and essentials.

What makes this property unique

Fernwood Lodge is not a typical cabin rental. It is a standalone, artistically designed retreat that blends rustic warmth with modern comfort. Large windows frame the surrounding forest, creating a strong connection to nature throughout the home. The layout is intentional, designed for conversation, shared meals, and rest. With four comfortable bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, finished lower level and an outdoor fire pit surrounded by trees, the property offers privacy and space to truly unwind. Guests have exclusive access to the entire cabin and designated outdoor areas, creating a sense of seclusion that is hard to find.
