Wedding Weekend
This was our first VRBO experience, and we are hooked. We had a wedding in Pittsfield with events over three days, so we decided to try this lakeside retreat, and it was a treat! The Berkshires in the fall are absolutely beautiful and Hinsdale is a pretty little town. Ozzie's is definitely worth the trip for breakfast. The lake is lovely and we were looking forward to kayaking and fishing. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but we still got one fish! Mary is a wonderful host who is accessible, yet non-intrusive. The ducks made us laugh every morning when they arrived to eat breakfast. The home was clean, comfortable, well equipped and a relaxing place to play games. Master bed and bath were very nice. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Perfect week in the Berkshires!
This property is exactly as described in words and photos. It is located in a small neighborhood surrounding Lake Ashmere. There are many docks but also the use of a neighborhood beach: cordoned for swimming with a pavilion for shade and accessible only to those who live there (and their guests!) The property was immaculate and well stocked: we cooked every night. The owner is across the street and very responsive. It is a great place for accessing many of the sights the Berkshires have to offer. And after a day of hiking (Mt. Greylock) and visiting Lenox and Pittsfield, we came home to a quiet, peaceful and welcoming home.

Beautiful lake, central location
This quiet property is located across the street from the owner, Mary. The apartment is very clean, well stocked, and Mary is very responsive. The lake is beautiful and can be accessed from Mary’s dock, the adjacent boat ramp, or the ‘beach’ which is a five minute walk, and I wish we could have spent a lot of time in it. However the weather did not cooperate with us, so we used the apartment as a home base for excursions north (Mt Greylock, art museums, Williamstown) or south (Tanglewood, Great Barrington area hiking and restaurants, Lee outlets). Hinsdale and Pittsfield do not have much to offer for restaurants or shopping beyond the usual chains so be prepared to drive 30-60 minutes.

Quiet, relaxing week
This is lovely property was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Mary, the owner, was always available and very helpful. This apartment is behind the owner’s lakefront home and water access is her yard. Mary was very generous about sharing this area with us but it didn’t have the private feel of a true lakefront property. Still, we had a great time!

Lovely lakeside stay
My family enjoyed our stay at this well-appointed lakeside cottage. Everything from the central air, washer/dryer, updated design, comfortable beds, book/game selections, Keurig, and smart tvs, made our stay very comfortable and easy. Mary, our host, was very responsive and so friendly and helpful. Her nice neighbors even gave us free worms to use for fishing! Of course, the big draw here is the lake, which is accessible only steps away from the cottage. Loved using the available kayaks to explore. Convenient to many attractions in the northern and central Berkshires.
