The location of this lovely home was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
The setting was just beautiful, and there were plenty of games, puzzles, and cozy spots for indoor entertainment as well.
The house was in a beautiful spot, and perfectly set up to enable access to the lake! We loved all the windows, the kayaks and water toys, and the spacious dock. The house easily fit our group of six.
Host has thought of everything to make an enjoyable family vacation! There’s a small swimming beach, dock and plenty of water toys and deck space. Lots of light and windows in the house allow you to see the quiet cove. It was a great location for a wedding that was held nearby.
Beautiful new lake home. Host Mary was very nice and accommodating. Easy drive to popular Berkshire towns. Dalton pizza andOzzie’s were great and close!

So glad you guys had fun. Stay longer next time! It was nice to meet you all.
We enjoyed our stay at this property and would recommend it to others. The house was clean and very nicely done inside and out. Mary was very attentive to any request and the home had many extras like coffee, spices, and many comforts of home. One thing to note is the third floor loft is beautiful but it is not private to the master bedroom.

So happy to meet you. Hope to see you again next year!
This immaculate property exceeded our expectations. The host was available to answer questions and offer suggestions. The property offers a lake view off the back deck with its own dock for personal use, just steps away. Our family had an amazing experience and we look forward to booking at this location on Ashmere Lake again.

Hope to see you again next year… The kids and I so enjoyed spending the 4th with you!
We had a wonderful time at this property. Mary was a great host; super responsive and accommodating. The rental was bright and clean, with a great primary bedroom and a roomy and well equipped kids' room. Plenty of books and games to entertain us when it rained, and access to kayaks, firepit, grill, and multiple fishing docks for when it wasn't. It was a great place to kick back and relax. Thanks so much!

You left it so clean. I’m sorry you had so much rain.
Our family spent a wonderful week exploring the Berkshires ... but not as much as we thought because we so enjoyed spending time at this beautiful home with a spectacular view of the lake and beach/dock/kayaks/tubes/fire pit that provided many ways to enjoy being on on in the lake. Owner was very accessible and friendly and addressed the few very minor issues/questions we had. I recommend staying 2 weeks if you can to enjoy both the area and this home.

Thank you for leaving our home so clean. Glad you could all keep cool, with this heat!
This house met all of our requirements for our family of 4. It was roomy, clean, had all appliances as needed and directly on the lake. When small things needed repair or an explanation the property who lived across the street and owner responded and resolved things immediately. We got to enjoy the lake when the weather cooperated and enjoyed fishing right off the dock. I would definitely recommend this property.
My family enjoyed our stay at this well-appointed lakeside cottage. Everything from the central air, washer/dryer, updated design, comfortable beds, book/game selections, Keurig, and smart tvs, made our stay very comfortable and easy. Mary, our host, was very responsive and so friendly and helpful. Her nice neighbors even gave us free worms to use for fishing! Of course, the big draw here is the lake, which is accessible only steps away from the cottage. Loved using the available kayaks to explore. Convenient to many attractions in the northern and central Berkshires.

So happy you enjoyed your stay. You are the new Scrabble champions!
This is lovely property was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Mary, the owner, was always available and very helpful. This apartment is behind the owner’s lakefront home and water access is her yard. Mary was very generous about sharing this area with us but it didn’t have the private feel of a true lakefront property. Still, we had a great time!

It was nice meeting you. Glad your guests got the best weather earlier in the week.
The house was clean and well-equipped. The back yard/beach was very nice, and there were no loud boats with motors, only the occasional paddle boat or kayaker waving hello as they passed by. The dock and yard were nice places to hang out, and the warm-water outdoor shower beside the boat house (equipped with paddles and plenty of life jackets) was a plus. We had some rainy days when we were there, and those were equally pleasant as the house is so clean and nice, with plenty of windows looking out over the lake. It was a lovely stay, and Mary was a great host!

So happy to get to know your family. The kids keep asking when you will be back. They enjoyed their epic s’mores campfire dance!
The house is very spacious and comfortable. The host, Mary, was very helpful and responsive. The house is situated on an inlet near one end of Lake Ashmere (very easy to access the larger lake in less than a minute with a kayak etc.) The location, while not affording larger lake vistas or sunsets, had the advantage of the larger, modern house, a spacious lot, polite and quiet neighbors, and a beautiful undeveloped forest directly across the inlet which added to the houses sense of sereneness and privacy.
Enjoyed our 4 night stay at the house on the lake. The check in was easy and the house was in good order when we checked in. Really enjoyed the things to do at the house including the lake trampoline and the canoe. Hinsdale is a small town with not a lot to do in it but the drive is only 15 minutes to Pittsfield and about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to Stockbridge/Lenox/Lee Etc. Would recommend you stop by Ozzy's for breakfast in Hinsdale as they serve a good breakfast (they only serve breakfast/lunch and are closed for dinner. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if in the area. We would recommend that they do a deep clean periodically as this was the only area we could point to for improvement.
Communication with host was excellent and responsive..
issues with master shower, should have been addressed before we arrived..
Towels could have been in better condition
Expectations for kayaks was not met..
neighborhood was wonderful
Door locks were difficult to secure..
Would recommend if issues were resolved.. location and Lake fabulous
House was comfortable and adequately supplied.
The host and her ducks were a bonus

I am surprised by your review, as we had no reports of problems with the master shower, prior to your check in (left directions for how to operate jet shower that were clearly not followed). When cleaning, between guests, found shower handle broken off and bamboo shower tray flooded to capacity (shower was clearly running while the door was open). Had we been told earlier, we could have gotten a plumber to accommodate our next guests. All bath towels are new and barely used & beach towels are a bonus. The kayak is as stated in the listing (plus we added another and our neighbor was kind enough to lone you more free of charge). The door locks are high end, but not difficult to operate. You also left the propane tank on the grill on and drained it, parked on the neighbor’s lawn and ours with no regard for the Goshen stone walkways.
This property is exactly as described in words and photos. It is located in a small neighborhood surrounding Lake Ashmere. There are many docks but also the use of a neighborhood beach: cordoned for swimming with a pavilion for shade and accessible only to those who live there (and their guests!) The property was immaculate and well stocked: we cooked every night. The owner is across the street and very responsive. It is a great place for accessing many of the sights the Berkshires have to offer. And after a day of hiking (Mt. Greylock) and visiting Lenox and Pittsfield, we came home to a quiet, peaceful and welcoming home.
This quiet property is located across the street from the owner, Mary. The apartment is very clean, well stocked, and Mary is very responsive. The lake is beautiful and can be accessed from Mary’s dock, the adjacent boat ramp, or the ‘beach’ which is a five minute walk, and I wish we could have spent a lot of time in it. However the weather did not cooperate with us, so we used the apartment as a home base for excursions north (Mt Greylock, art museums, Williamstown) or south (Tanglewood, Great Barrington area hiking and restaurants, Lee outlets). Hinsdale and Pittsfield do not have much to offer for restaurants or shopping beyond the usual chains so be prepared to drive 30-60 minutes.
This was our first VRBO experience, and we are hooked. We had a wedding in Pittsfield with events over three days, so we decided to try this lakeside retreat, and it was a treat! The Berkshires in the fall are absolutely beautiful and Hinsdale is a pretty little town. Ozzie's is definitely worth the trip for breakfast. The lake is lovely and we were looking forward to kayaking and fishing. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but we still got one fish! Mary is a wonderful host who is accessible, yet non-intrusive. The ducks made us laugh every morning when they arrived to eat breakfast. The home was clean, comfortable, well equipped and a relaxing place to play games. Master bed and bath were very nice. We would definitely recommend staying here!
