It is the perfect getaway for a couple/small family; imagine sledding out on to the trails in the Winter or sitting out on the front deck and watching the river flow by, just 30 feet away, in the Spring, Summer and Fall! It is next to the Log Cabin Resort that offers a sandy beach for swimming!!

Relax on the River is a charming cabin, located in an area that is perfect for any outdoor enthusiast! Experience canoeing/kayaking, and fishing right out your front door! There are also nearby ski/hike/snowshoe trails as well as ATV/snowmobile trails and the Birkie /CAMBA trails. (Snowmobile right out of the cabin on to the trails!) Experience the small town charm of the Trego - Hayward - Spooner area (including a bar/restaurant near Hwy 53 within walking distance!) or just `stay home` and relax in your own private getaway on the beautiful Wild and Scenic Namekagon River! :-)


From the Owner:

Hello and Welcome! This place on the river has always represented home for me. It is my roots. I was born and raised here, and my family`s history and connection to this site go back almost 100 years. My grandparents Homer and Luella Canfield bought this land in the 1930s to homestead on and build a log cabin resort. My grandfather and dad began clearing the land. In winters they would cut trees with local timber using crosscut saws and axes. With horse and sleigh they would haul them to this site to build their home. The resort cabins werebuilt and the operation of Canfield`s Log Cabin Resort began in the 1940s. My parents Jack and Dorie Canfield took ownership of the resort in the 1960s. They cleared more land and developed the campground and canoeing aspects as a popular addition to the resort. In the early 1980s they sold the portion of the resort that was run as a campground and seasonal cabins, and kept the portion containing the original log home and the year-round cabins. I hope the peaceful Namekagon River, now a National Scenic Riverway, and the surrounding area of the northwoods provide you with a grounded, relaxed feeling. Place of the Sturgeon.

All areas of the cabin are your own to use during your stay, and are not shared with anyone else!

Queit time at the cabin is 10pm. No fireworks are allowed on the property.
Check-in: After 4:00pm
Check-out: 10:00am
No Smoking.
No pets allowed.
No parties or events.
Do not enter the garage.
Please place all trash in the trash cans provided throughout the property.
Respectful Neighbor and Quiet Hours
Please respect our neighbors who live here full time and mind the quiet hours of 10pm to 8am.
If you have any issues with a neighbor, please report that to us immediately.
Accidents and Damages
We kindly request that you report any accidental breakages or damages before checking out.
In the event that damage to the property or its contents is not covered by our insurance or it exceeds the security deposit, the cost to repair or replace will be billed to the guests.
Visitors and Guests
Please limit the number of guests during the day to a maximum of 4.
Only guests listed on the pre-arrival form are permitted to stay overnight.
The number of total guests cannot exceed the maximum number of guests allowed on the property.
All guests and visitors are the responsibility of the primary booking guest and must comply with all house rules.

CHECK OUT PROCEDURES:
A. CHECK-OUT NO LATER THAN CHECK OUT TIME
B. All furniture should be returned to its original location.
C. Trash: There is dumpster across the parking lot (says private but its for the cabins not resort)
D. Remove and dispose of all food items from refrigerator and pantry/cabinets.
E. Place dishes, utensils, etc. in dishwasher and turn it on when you depart.
F. Remove sheets and all dirty towels and place next to bed.
G. Put key(s) back in the lock box, leaving both doorknob and deadbolts locked. Leave extra set of keys on the kitchen counter.
H. Notify us before leaving if anything was damaged during your stay.
