About this property

Mountain Top Cabin with a View that is Centrally Located in Western Carolina.

Juke Cabin is great place to relax or be adventurous in the mountains of western North Carolina. Our porch offers an incredible view where you can relax on the outdoor sofa or rock in the rocking chairs. The porch is kid/dog friendly with a gate enclosure to prevent sneaking off! Meals can be enjoyed on the porch table or inside on the dining room table. Enjoy the indoor fireplace on a chilly night or outside at the firepit on summer evenings. The kitchen has been fully renovated with all new appliances and granite countertops. The kitchen cabinets an antique "wormy chestnut" that were made locally over 50 years ago and have been restored to maintain the mountaintop cabin feel.

Juke Cabin is centrally located between Cherokee and Asheville, North Carolina. Hiking can be done nearby in the Great Smokey Mountains or Blue Ridge Parkway. Countless waterfalls are located nearby including Dry Falls, Mingo Falls, Looking Glass Falls, High Falls, Turtleback Fall and Rainbow Falls. Visit nearby Dillsboro or Sylva to grab a meal or drink at a local brewery after shopping at the local artist galleries. Jump on the train in Dillsboro and ride it through the Great Smokey Mountains to Bryson City. Visit nearby Cherokee, NC where you can visit the Cherokee Indian Village, see elk, watch the play Unto These Hills (an outdoor drama retailing the Trail of Tears), or try your luck at Harrah's Cherokee Casino. Take a day trip exploring the Great Smokey Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Kayaking, tubing and white water rafting are just a short trip down the mountain in Dillsboro or in Bryson City. Ziplining is a fun adventure close to Juke Cabin too. There are several gem mining locations nearby that is always fun for the kids. Asheville is just an hour away. We are happy to offer suggestions on things to do that involve kids, dogs, grandparents or families.

Or, just sit on the porch with a glass of wine or cup of coffee while enjoying the view to recharge your batteries!

We have enjoyed our cabin for over 16 years with babies, kids, teenagers, grandparents and dogs. We can offer a variety of suggestions on places to see, visit, eat and hike for any age group - with our without dogs too!

It is a great place to stay. Beautiful view of the mountains and great ambience outside around the house. It is true to get there before dark for the first time. It is an adventure getting to the top of the mountain. We saw lots of wild turkeys!

A home away from home. We enjoyed coffee and reading and yoga and sunsets on the porch, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows on the fire pit, family movies at night, sleeping in the loft. Very comfy home and Michelle has great ideas of things to do nearby (our favorites were hiking to waterfalls and shopping and eating in Dilsboro). Great place to bring our one dog too. Would definitely stay here again. Great place to slow down for a while :)

Traveled with my husband, 9 year old daughter and my in-laws to attend a WCU game. We went to the house first because it’s on top of the mountain and navigating can be difficult. Clear directions given with landscape markers to help find it. It’s got beautiful views once you get to the top and the house is adorable. We enjoyed sitting on the porch the most listening and watching nature. We got a good nights sleep and out the door. Loved the peacefulness and would definitely stay again!!

This is such a great property! The cabin is so inviting and woodsy - just what you want in the mountains. It was very clean! You would never know it's dog-friendly because it's so clean. The back porch is such a nice, comfortable place to hang out with lots of seating and awesome view. The host is super nice, helpful and attentive. We have no complaints. It was a wonderful mountain get-away.

The juke cabin was adorable, quaint and comfy. The view off the back porch was beautiful. We kept taking pictures. Michele, the host was very responsive. We would love to return sometime and recommend it for a mtn. get away. We took the train ride out of Bryson City on The Great Smokey Mtn. Train. It was a fun excursion for the day. Dillsboro and Sylva have quaint little shops and restaurants for a day of shopping and sightseeing.

As advertised. The cabin had an incredible view and was secluded. We greatly enjoyed the wildlife, fireflies, humming birds, and the fire pit. The road up the the cabin was an adventure, but well worth it for the view.

Our stay in this cozy moutain home was perfect. The mountaun view is breath taking from the porch and the house is well stocked with everything you could need from; cooking, games, tvs, comfortable furninure, and laundry. The drive up the moutain is an adventure and confirms that you truly found a place to get away from everyday life and enjoy nature. The host does an excellent job of keeping in touch with you and is very responsive if you need any assistance. We loved spending time here.

Michelle was a great host. She checked on us before we got there and even called to provide some last minute information about the heat. The view from the back porch is gorgeous and the house had everything we needed. My family enjoyed the stay. Michelle provides great directions up to the house as it is not on a state maintained road. The first time you go to the house go when you have some daylight as Michelle recommends.

Welcome to Juke Cabin. Our family has been enjoying our mountain retreat for 14 years. Our kids and dogs have countless memories of spending time relaxing on the back porch, waterfalls, tubing, ziplining, picnics, hikes, gem mining... This list goes on and on. I am very happy to share suggestions on things to do for kids, families, couples and dogs. We are a dog friendly cabin.

Why they chose this property

We have done our best to provide a mountain cabin with modern features. Since we are located at the top of a mountain, our TV and internet are provided by satellite. Our kitchen has been fully updated to include granite countertops, new sink and faucet, stove and oven with air frying, microwave and refrigerator. The "wormy chestnut" cabinets were restored and are original to the cabin. We have an AC unit in the loft that cools the cabin. Since we are at the top of the mountain, the temperature is 10-15 degrees cooler than at the bottom of the mountain. We recently updated the flooring and provided a full-size ping-pong table in the basement.

We provide plenty of firewood for the fireplace and outdoor firepit! The porch is where most people spend their time. Take your pick of the outdoor sofa, chair, rocking chairs or dining table to unwind while enjoying the view. We have gated the porch so little ones and pups can't escape!

What makes this property unique

MOUNTAIN TOP VIEWS! We are centrally located between Cherokee and Asheville at the top of the mountain with an amazing view. We are situated between the Great Smokey Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Waterfalls, hiking trails, whitewater rafting, tubing, elk, gem mining, shopping, breweries and restaurants are all located nearby. We are happy to share suggestions for our guest based on your needs - that includes kid and pet friendly adventures!
