About this property
Sunny & Cheerful Ski-in/Ski-Out Luxury Condo Overlooking the Blue River
What enchanted us about this condo was its peaceful wooded setting by the Blue River. It is a second-floor corner unit, quiet and private, close enough to the ground to hear the river and high enough to have a spectacular view of the snow on the pine trees.
In the winter, sit in front of the fireplace and watch the snow falling on the pines outside your window after a day of breath-taking skiing. In the summer, sip a glass of wine on the balcony off the living room as you listen to the rushing sounds of the Blue River nearby and relax after a day of playing in beautiful Colorado. Or just curl up with a book or a movie in the bright and sunny living room.
This cheerful and spacious 1,600 sq. ft. unit has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and is just 150 yards from the Quicksilver chairlift at Peak Nine base, a five-minute walk from Main Street and the heart of Breckenridge, and is surrounded by miles of skiing, hiking and biking trails.
Why the Owner Chose Powderhorn: We picked Breckenridge and this particular property for a number of reasons. We live in Boulder, Colorado, so Breckenridge is conveniently located--we can be there in less than two hours. We were there in the summer of 1996 and stayed at a place near the Blue River. It was a typical Colorado day--the sun was shining, the sky was blue, it was hot but without the humidity that plagues so many other states--and we thought: Wouldn't it be nice to have a place here. The rest is history!
Our condo at Powderhorn is right next to the Blue River, so in the summer we can leave the doors of our deck off the master bedroom open and go to sleep to the sound of the river gurgling beneath us.
Why the Owner Chose Powderhorn (continued): Powderhorn is also adjacent to the Peak 9 Quicksilver lift, so an easy ski-in ski-out for DeWitt. Sandra, who does not ski, likes the fact that in less than 5 minutes on foot she can be in town. Of the various ski towns within two hours of Denver, Breckenridge is by far the largest and the one with the richest history. So after a hard day of skiing or biking we can enjoy some truly outstanding restaurants.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium: In the winter, skiing, of course, is the primary activity. In the summer we enjoy biking and hiking. There are miles of trails in all directions. The ambitious biker can even bike to Vail!
And the condo is large enough that it feels like a real home. It is 1600 sq. ft. with a huge living/dining area, a deck that can comfortably seat 4, and a large kitchen for those who love to cook. City Market, which is affiliated with Kroger and King Soopers, is close by and a great resource for good groceries. And there are some great restaurants that we would be happy to recommend. Oh, and don't forget to ask us about the best bran muffin . . . !

This stay was just what we were looking for! It is within walking distance to the ski lifts, very roomy, cozy, clean and had all the amenities we could ask for. Community hot tubs and close to all the shops and restaurants.
The condo was great! It was very clean and spacious. The condo was centrally located to everything which was nice. We would definitely stay here again. The host was very nice and answered all our questions.
The condo was just as expected. Our family of 6 enjoyed the big kitchen, large dining room for meals and games, and the proximity to Peak 9 was great. The owner suggested where to rent skis nearby which was also a great experience. Truly an ideal location to slopes and town. Everything was walkable. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
My family and i had an amazing stay , the air b&b was super cozy and clean ! And the host was easy to get in contact with ! Id definitely book my stay here again ! This location was great it was in the facinity of everything . Id definitely check out their trollies and bus route times ahead of driving and finding parking highly recommend parking earlier than later if your going to be out on the town for a while and choose not to use buses or trollies . But over all i give this location an A

Great Location!!
Our group loved the location and the condo was the perfect size for 2 families.
Loved the condo. Really comfortable for 7 adults. Well equipped kitchen. Beautiful setting and easy to get to town and skiing. Just a note- garage is great but only for cars less than 6’1”.Easy short walk-in, walk out to skiing. Would stay again.
We loved staying at this spacious condo for our first trip to Breckenridge. It was very clean and the location was convenient. Just a short walk to ski school, rentals, and lift. The size was perfect for our group of four adults and two kids.
Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at this property! Perfect accommodations for a family vacation with our three 20-something children. Easy walk to anywhere downtown. Just like the owners described, the sound of the blue river was really nice and replaced the need for any white noice machines. Ample space for wife and girls to get ready. Enjoyed the decks as well. Breck overall is a great location to set-off on different sight-seeing adventures like Vail, Leadville, Maroon Bells, etc.

Thank you, Pedro. It was a pleasure to work with you. Hope to see you again next year!
This was our second stay at this property. The location is fantastic. The bedrooms are clean and taken care of. The bathrooms were stocked with supplies. Each room had a humidifier which was necessary in the dry mountain air. The kitchen has all the gadgets for the nights you stay home to eat. We will definitely stay again.

Looking forward to your return! Thanks for the nice review.
This property was in an excellent location near Peak 9. Probably the cleanest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in. It took a little while to get the baseboard electric heaters going, but once they were on, they worked well. The linens and beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked. The size fit theee kids and four adults very nicely. Would stay again!
Location is great for skiing; easy walk to the slopes. Enjoyed the condo. Plenty of space and had everything we needed to cook dinners. Great view and quiet neighborhood (at least in April when we stayed). Appliances are a bit older but worked fine.

Perfect!
In our many visits to Breck, we haven't experienced a better combination of accommodations and location. The layout of this unit is perfect for our family of 5. The location, just steps away from Quicksilver is ideal, and beautiful - especially after a fresh snow. We hope to visit again soon.

This is a wonderful unit. Fully stocked with everything you might need. Plenty of room for our whole clan to stay, eat, play games and and stretch out after a day of skiing. Walking distance to Peak 9 Quick Silver and all the great restaurants, bars and shopping down Main Street. We will definitely stay here again!

Great visit!!
We stayed in Sandra's condo the end of June. It was better than we expected! Great location, loved the river access and we had more than enough room for our family of four. We loved listening to the river at night and walking the trails next to it during the day. Sandra made the whole rental process a breeze. We would definitely stay here again!

Thank you so much! Yes, please stay with us again!
Six of us stayed for a long ski weekend. First off, the place is very spacious for a ski condo - plenty of room for everyone, and you could have some privacy at times! The kitchen is huge and well stocked - we used it daily instead of going out. Good basic selection of spices, etc.Access to quicksilver lift -it's about a 100 yard walk. Good to know - garage has limited clearance, so I'd you have a taller SUV or roof box, definitely look for outside spot.
The location of this property can’t be beat. It is located close to ski rental and the lift at Quicksilver. Walking to the village was convenient and close too. Check in and check out is easy. The condo is well stocked with basic essentials. The only down was that is was not as clean as it should have been. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to other family and friends looking for a great location.

Alison, I’m glad you liked our condo. I spoke to the cleaners about your concern, and they were very apologetic.
Easy. The only bummer was when we arrived at 3:55pm, it had not been cleaned yet. We had to wait until 5:20pm to get in. We did unload our groceries, but After a LONG trip in the car, we were ready to relax!!

About the host

We are retired and love to travel. When we travel we almost always stay at Bed and Breakfasts because we enjoy the personal touches that each place offers to the cold anonymity of most hotel rooms. That is why we have decorated our condo in warm and vibrant Mediterranean colours and have hung family and travel photos on our walls.
