About this property

Cape Fear’s Original 1908 Cozy Historic Getaway

It's the perfect little secret cozy hideaway if you want to be in the heart of it all without the hassle! Enjoy fast WiFi, hot coffee at a corner cafe, strolling around the block for local microbrews or the farmer's market on Saturdays, poking around the local art scene, soaking in a riverfront sunset, taking in an evening Ghost Tour or romantic horse and carriage ride, sauntering over to a yoga class......if you want to experience the heart of downtown Wilmington, this is it! This quirky and newly renovated studio has all the creature comforts you need for a happy, cozy stay. Park the car, no need to drive!
The space
Perfect for singles or couples, the studio is a charming 320 square feet. Located on the second floor, window overlooks a bright and sunny open-air atrium. The vibe is fun and eclectic here - feel free to kick your feet up and relax!

Sleep: The 2nd Street Studio has a queen size Murphy bed that comfortably sleeps 2 people. Yes, it's a real bed and mattress and it is comfy! The bathroom is spacious for 2. Linens and towels provided. Laundry is on-site and FREE for you.

Connect: Stay connected with the flat screen tv - you've got all the local channels, Amazon Prime video, Netflix and free WiFi.

Eat: Fully equipped kitchenette! But you won't want to miss our local dining scene. :)

Park: It's right across the street and is $8/day. The big parking deck is on the corner, and several other decks are within walking distance. There are metered spots right out the front door and on every block (free after 6:30 pm and Sundays!). Plan to park your car and leave it - you won't need it unless you are headed to the beach! Since downtown is THE place to be, street parking can be tricky on holiday and festival weekends... contact us and we will help you.

Hi I'm Jenny, both an Airbnb guest and host of 8 years! I enjoy travel worldwide, and I stay Airbnb as often as I can - I love finding unique and interesting accommodations. I usually backpack, so Airbnb allows me to find fun places to stay on the fly. I'm always up for an adventure, and I love the ease of traveling with nothing but a pack on my back. As a host, I respect your privacy and hope you enjoy the laid-back warmth of my place. I'm always a phone call away and live nearby if you need me. :)

Why they chose this property

Rated "Best Beach Town" by Southern Living magazine, I have called the Wilmington area my home for nearly 30 years. Downtown Wilmington is my favorite area because i love the neighborhood vibe.....everything is walkable, pubs and award-winning dining on every corner, live music everywhere in the summer, the Farmer's Market across the street.....it's a lively, safe and beautiful small town downtown! Holidays bring it's own special charm with amazing decorations and holiday parades out the front door. The architecture of original buildings up and down Front Street is worth a leisurely stroll. Dine on the riverfront for amazing views or catch a sunset cocktail from one of dozens of excellent spots for happy hour. It's all of the charm of the South wrapped up in a small and easily walkable spot!

What makes this property unique

The 2nd Street Studio is quirky and fun! Filled with real plants, a wide array of books and albums, interesting art and unusual novelties. Despite being a tiny space, the bathroom is spacious for two. Our guests RAVE about how comfortable the bed is, complete with extra pillows and a fluffy down comforter for the sweetest of dreams. And by and large, this studio is all about location....you cannot pick a better spot to walk to nearly anything your heart desires downtown!
