It’s a sweet place. Clean and tranquil. How will you enjoy it? Will you listen to the loons, stargaze at night, swim, fish, read a book? The choice is yours. Our lakeside retreat, newly renovated and quaintly appointed, offers an idyllic setting to relax. The apartment is in the basement floor of our home, across the road from the lake. Lake views from your bed!
During your stay, you will have use of our screened-in, lakeside boathouse (right on the water), our canoe, kayaks, fire pit, and fishing pole. The lakefront area is for use during the day and into the evening.
Many amazing hiking trails nearby. Town with restaurants, and groceries only a 10 minute drive. Great pizza, beer, and live music a mile away!
The house is on Lake Parker. We are 8 minutes to Currier’s Market, 10 minutes from the town of Barton, about 25 minutes to Jay Peak (restaurants and water park), 25 minutes to Newport (restaurants and biking trail), 25 minutes to the Hill Farmstead craft brewery and tasting center, about 2 hours to Montreal, about 1 hour to New Hampshire and the White Mountain National Forest, about 1 1/2 hours to the King Arthur Factory, Cabot Creamery and the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, 2 hours drive to the cobblestone shopping area of Church Street in Burlington.
Wi-Fi is available. There is no cable television; however, there is a television screen equipped with Chromecast to watch movies from your device. There is a Wi-Fi extender to allow internet to carry to the boathouse.
We live upstairs and are around if you need help planning your day. But we understand privacy and solitude also. Please note that the terrain in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is natural and rustic, which may not be suitable for all guests. Our property includes a sloped driveway (and parking is at the top), gravel walkway to the lakefront, and natural rock stairs around the property. Agility and physical ability should be considered to ensure a comfortable stay. Accommodation is across the road from the lake.
