About this property

Cozy Cabin D in the trees

You will love Cabin D tucked in the pine and aspen trees on an acre lot in a relaxed subdivision 7 minutes from Divide. The cabin has hardwood floors and pine walls that make you feel the warmth of the woods. Cozy and eclectic touches catch the eye in this awesome little 500 square foot getaway, perfect for a couple (it is romantic) or a single traveler. A variety of wildlife to enjoy every day.

Please note between the months of November- April a four-wheel-drive or all wheel drive vehicle is required.

Some describe this cozy cabin as a doll house in the woods. It has a modern rustic feel with lots of personal touches and funky details. A lot of love and care has been poured into it over the years. Tongue and groove pine walls line the interior of Cabin D and ceiling in the bedroom and bathroom. Oak hardwood floors run from wall-to-wall with an accent of slate tile at the front and rear entrances.

The bathroom, which connects to the bedroom, has a tile floor with a stone countertop featuring a raised porcelain sink. The shower is encased in slate tile with a sprinkle of beach rocks from Mexico outlining the top.

The bedroom features a queen bed with a wall-mounted TV with Netflix available. A closet is also available in the bedroom to hang your clothing and coats.

When you pass through the front door you access the main living space with a loveseat and chair cuddled up around a wood and iron coffee table and a modern satellite chandelier hangs from the vaulted ceiling. Live plants warm up the space and add some greenery. A rustic bistro table with two retro chairs provide a perfect spot to dine or work on a laptop. A wood-burning stove is tucked in the corner of the main room adding to the rustic charm but it is only decorative. It is not functional, locked, and no indoor fires are allowed.

The kitchen highlights a refrigerator, stove and cooktop, a mini island, and plenty of cabinet space. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, glassware, pots and pans, some spices, olive oil, sugar, standard ground coffee, and flour. In compact cabin style, you’ll also locate the washer and dryer in the main room.

A steep staircase leads to a loft above the bedroom but it is designated as an “owners loft” (like an owners closet) and not open to guests.

To complement the interior, the outside of the cabin is wrapped in a log siding. When you arrive you will park on the gravel road street in front of the cabin. A short set of steps leads you to the front porch. A large deck sits in the trees to the left of the cabin with an outdoor table, umbrella, and chair set inviting you to enjoy every meal outside in the summer. Right off the sliding glass door in the main room you walk onto another deck, which connects to the lower deck to the left of the cabin. The upper back deck has a quaint table for two with an umbrella. The decks look out into the back yard, heavily wooded with pine and aspens.

Whatever the season, Cabin D delivers a relaxing, chill vibe inside or out. Oh...if you are outside having a coffee or a glass of wine on the deck you might hear the wolves howl from the Wolf and Wildlife Center a couple miles away as the crow flies. One last thing, step outside on a clear night with no moon and you will see a sky lit up like no other.

Additional Notes:
You will find a hand sketched property map in the cabin that delineates property lines. Neighbors do exist like they do in many alpine subdivisions in the area so be sure to stay on the property and not trespass.

Between the months of November- April a four-wheel-drive or all wheel drive vehicle is required! The cabin is located in a normal alpine rural housing development but there are a few spots on the roads with hills or slight pitches that make it difficult for non-four-wheel-drive vehicles to get to and from the cabin when road conditions are not favorable (icy/snow packed). Therefore, it is required to have a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive vehicle during the winter months so you don’t get stuck and you don’t spend your entire trip digging out :-)

Once the reservation is confirmed, a copy of your driver’s license will need to be sent through the VRBO app to the host. The code to access the key to the cabin will not be provided until a copy of the driver’s license is sent.

If you want to bring your dog, just ask ahead of time.

No shooting on the property allowed.

No ATVs allowed on the property or on the county roads in the subdivision.

No smoking allowed inside the cabin.

If you do smoke outside you must be careful so as to not start a forest fire. No throwing of butts outside. Forest fires are a serious concern in this area.

No campfires or fire pits allowed outside on the property.

Amenities and Things To Do:
The cabin is close to Divide and 18 minutes to Woodland Park. Drive 45 minutes to the east and you will be in the west side of Colorado Springs. The Wolf and Wildlife Center is 3 minutes from the cabin. The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is 10 minutes by car. If you want to ski, Breckenridge is 1.5 hours away, perfect for a day trip. The ski area of Monarch is also an hour and a half drive. Some like the historic charm of the City of Cripple Creek with gambling only 30 minutes to the south. America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak, can be seen from nearly every vantage point in Teller County. Numerous hiking spots can be accessed throughout the region for scenic trailblazing. If you like to fish you can check out Rampart Reservoir or Skagway. Major grocery stores and amenities like Safeway, City Market, Walmart, Walgreens, Natural Grocers, etc. can be found in Woodland Park. In Divide you can find a local market and an Irish pub. Over three hundred days of sunshine, pure air, and blue skies await you. If you like wildlife, you may see deer, fox, raccoon, birds, chipmunks, and squirrels right in the backyard.
