Disappointing
A deep cleaning had not been done. There were spider webs on the windows and the tops of the ceiling fans had not been touched in months. We purchased oscillating fans for comfort as there is no air conditioning. Even if it gets cool at night, it quickly heats up to an uncomfortable temperature during the day. Lighting throughout is poor. There is air in the water lines. The house is not sealed well, so there was constant bug traffic on the lower level-ants, spiders, crickets. Outlet covers were missing from several outlets. The host was pleasant until the concerns were mentioned and then she became defensive. She said that we are up in the mountains so we should expect wildlife and bugs. No welcome kit was provided and nothing was done to try to make our stay more pleasant. She offered to have her cleaning lady come back out for a review…but we didn’t want to enter into a debate about the house cleanliness, nor did we feel comfortable with leaving her alone with our belongings. If it was clean, we wouldn’t have complained. Having to remove bugs from the bathtub daily prior to use or laying in bed and having bugs fall from the ceiling on you was a horrible experience. We muscled through it to not make things worse for our family staying with us. After the visit we called VRBO and asked for a refund or some type of resolve for our experience. The host and VRBO declined any offer to make things right. Disappointing all the way around.

Kansas UTV Riders
We really enjoyed our stay here and loved the trails to go UTV riding. Slaughterhouse Gulch was a favorite, not far from the cabin at all. Loved the view from the upstairs living room and deck. So relaxing just hanging out at the cabin. I felt the Host kept in great contact with checking in/out instructions. It is a little tight for parking if you are bringing a trailer but it was do-able with great backup helpers. Thanks!

Beautiful scenery, No A/C
This house has a fantastic view. Great relaxation! No A/C in this house which wasn’t easily noticed in listing. I know in the mountains it’s not always needed but it got really warm inside a couple of the days. 78 degrees is not pleasant when there is no cross breeze. Just know if you stay, no A/C and no fans in bedroom make it pretty rough sleeping when you are used to air moving and cold A/C. There is only 1 TV in the entire house and that’s in the upstairs bedroom. Could’ve had one in the downstairs for viewing too. This is pretty far out from stuff to do but the views are great! The check in time on the listing says 3pm and 4 pm in different spots. We were going by the emails sent with the booking, which all say 3. She said it wouldn’t be ready until 4. We arrived around 3, after receiving an email that it was ready for check in. When we arrived, they were finishing cleaning and were shocked by our arrival. Apparently it was an automatic email. She was kind and accommodating and they were just finishing so it wasn’t a huge deal, but the check in time needs to be the same throughout the listing. Great communication and kind host!

Why they chose this property

We bought the home to enjoy the peace, quiet and beauty of the area. The property is situated on 2.5 acres of land on a mountain hilltop with a stunning curbside appeal. As you drive up the last 10 min to the house, you have sprawling views of the valley with a farm and view of the Bailey village. It is a custom built log cabin 15 years ago, bought from the original owner. All the amenities are custom made for the family. There are 3 decks and a set up for horseshoe playing out front. The land is like your own private forest to go hiking in.

What makes this property unique

Love the scenery, the large windows with beautiful views, the drive up the to hilltop. Everything about this Cabin was thoughtfully curated.
