About the host
Hosted by Diane Macias

We are just two people who love to travel and drink coffee. I bake, practice Kung Fu, eat good food, and relax with friends. I love a good renovation and working on this property has been so much fun.
My parents grew up in Tucson and my family and I were tired of renting houses for holidays and special events. We decided to buy a property so we could have a home base in Tucson. This house is minutes from several family members and is so close to downtown. When we saw that it was in the coveted Sam Hughes neighborhood we jumped on it. What a great neighborhood!
I am not in the area but can be reached by replying to messages or, in the case of an emergency, my phone number is in the digital guide book that will be emailed to you before check in. We hope you are comfortable in our home.

Why they chose this property
I love everything about this property. We knew it would take some time to fully restore it but we have had a great time working on it. There are three houses and a bunkhouse on the property. They have separate entrances and a shared courtyard.
Casita B is a two bedroom house with one room set up as a living room. One room has a queen bed and the other has a queen pull-out couch. The living room has a door so sleepers will not be disturbed by kitchen activities. The house is small but very comfortable.
The front house is the original structure on the property and is so beautiful with its built-in shelves, original fireplace, and crown moldings. The casitas are newer but still have so much charm. Old houses have so much soul.
This house was pretty neglected and it has taken us some time just to get it cleaned up and into the 21st century. We are tackling the large courtyard now and it is turning out amazing.

What makes this property unique
This property was built in 1938 and was in disrepair when we bought it. We have made vast improvements to the structures. The houses were our first priority and we are now working on the landscaping. It shares a large courtyard with the other casitas on the property and has several sitting areas and a firepit for guests to relax. This house is in the perfect spot to walk to restaurants, bars and coffee shops.
