Welcome to Megunticook Retreat. This beautifully decorated intimate cottage is settled in front of picturesque Megunticook Lake, with views of the lake and mountains from every room. With access to swimming and boating right in your front yard, and a private seasonal hot tub (available May 15- October 15), you will find this the perfect place to relax and unwind. There are numerous hiking trails in the nearby Camden Hills State Park. The ocean and downtown Camden are only a 5 minute drive away. Whether you come for adventure, shopping, gourmet restaurants, hiking, skiing, or taking a romantic sunset sail on one of the local schooners, there is something for everyone in this beautiful area. Come see it for yourself! We live locally and are happy to accommodate any needs or questions you may have. We provide a water cooler for drinking water during your stay.

Beautiful little cabin on Megunticook! We stayed mid September and it was peaceful and quiet. Great access for paddling excursions on the lake and very convenient to Camden and surrounding area. Wonderful getaway for a short stay.

Fabulous lakeside getaway.

Beautiful, well appointed lakeside cottage, owner had wine, cheeseboard on arrival. Kitchen had everything we needed. Great Wi-Fi, kayaks and sups available for paddling the lake. Host was available by text when we had a question. Comfortable bed and living area. Relaxing porch facing the lake. Will definitely be back.

Great Getaway

Everything was clean and well decorated. Though the weather was not the best we still had a great time Kayaking, sitting on the back porch, and in the hot tub. Great location and thank you for the wine, crackers and cheese. We will be back.

Peaceful cottage by the lake

This is a beautifully appointed property situated right on Megunticook Lake. Everything was perfect for our stay. The cottage was bright; the bed comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The hot tub looks directly at the lake. Very close to Camden and the Camden Hills State Park, which has some great hiking.

10-Year Anniversary Getaway

This property was the BEST place we have ever stayed! It felt like heaven the moment we walked in the house and around the yard. We had a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains from our deck. The hot tub was another highlight that made our stay very relaxing. We also liked how quiet the neighborhood was yet we were only 10 minutes from the grocery store. Already booked our next trip for 2025! Highly recommend.

Great getaway!

Our only complaint is that this property is not closer to where we live. Well designed and nicely equipped either new or newly redone cottage. Lovely lake with great swimming, nice hot tub, Camden and the surrounding area is full of things to see and do, and the property is wonderful for just doing nothing at all!

EVERYTHING at Your Fingertips

This small space is so expertly done that it feels much, much larger. Everything is like brand new! The grounds are ideal for enjoying the lake. The kayaks are in great condition, the dock is perfect for lounging and swimming, and the water is perfect. WE LOVED IT!!

Perfect slice of Heaven!

We can not rave enough about our perfect spot that my husband found! I can’t think of any detail that was missed ! Charming cottage, spotless and accommodates your every need. Loved the hot tub on a cool evening and also loved waking up and watching it rain on the beautiful lake from our bed. It was all so perfect! Thank you for the wine, cheese and crackers. I could live there forever!

Idyllic getaway

We loved everything about our stay---the sweet waterside cottage was a wonderful getaway for the 2 of us and perfect for our first return to Camden in over 35 years!! Comfortable, crisp and clean with everything we needed. Walking out the back door, onto the dock and jumping into the lake for a swim was what the doctor ordered and the kayaks and hot tub were incredibly appreciated every day of our stay. Nicely situated close to Camden to take advantage of some dining and great lobster rolls and see Midsummer's Night Dream at the Camden Shakespeare Theater. Very peaceful stay and we thank you for such a perfect 3 day getaway!!

Perfect location

The cottage is a comfortable option for two people, with many tasteful extra touches (like pumpkins on the steps to celebrate the season). It is close to the amenities of Camden but outside the traffic of Route 1, overlooking a lovely lake with Maiden Cliff beyond. We appreciated having two well maintained kayaks at our fingertips to explore Megunticook. Having hiked the cliff trail many times in past years, it was an interesting change of perspective to see the area from the water. We also enjoyed having a cozy home to return to after treks in Camden Hills State Park and excursions to nearby Fernald's Neck and Beech Hill. We look forward to returning in the future.
