This upstairs studio was a perfect getaway for me and my husband for our anniversary. Very clean and quiet. It felt luxurious with a cozy bed, personal balcony, and contemporary kitchenette. We enjoyed our stay very much!

This property was beautifully decorated with high-end linens and furnishings. It’s close to shopping and downtown Black Mtn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay !
The apartment is comfortable and so cute. The location is convenient to downtown Black Mountain. Host is very accommodating and very nice. We will definitely stay again and recommend to our family and friends.
Wonderful stay! Great location! Very comfortable bed and cute bathroom. Lovely views from the deck. Quiet and peaceful retreat. Hoping to visit again soon!
We so enjoyed our overnight in this beautifully appointed property. The hosts are kind, left wonderful recommendations, and have just attended to every detail. The furnishings are perfect and the bed is very comfortable. The view is outstanding and I am sure we would have enjoyed the deck in warmer weather.
I cannot say enough good things about the hosts and our stay! The studio was clean, the neighborhood was quiet, the recommendations on food were perfect! Our trip started out with a disappointing stop at the original house we booked and I quickly got online found the studio with David and Pamela and they were quick to respond and let us stay at their studio within hours of me reaching out to them! We were so pleased with our stay and will return!
The subdivision and the unit were new and beautiful; decor and facilities were lovely. Host and hostess were attentive and cordial, very responsive as well! Will definitely return when we are in the area!

Amazing beautiful neighborhood with even better host who give thorough instructions of how to get to the neighborhood. Definitely a place to comeback to every time we come to black mountain. Room was extremely clean with very high quality linens. Amenities were all perfect honestly couldn’t have had a better booking than this one. Beautiful place to stay with attentive kind host just made our weekend trip that much better so glad we chose to stay here definitely would recommend to anyone just trying to relax in the mountains.
Everything about this rental was top notch and immaculate. Lovely decor and rich beddings. Great sitting area outside also. Close to everything. Would definitely stay again!
As past reviews have stated, the property is attractive, immaculate and cozy. It is a small efficiency with a lovely outdoor space when weather permits. Host was very responsive and available. Perfect for a weekend in Black Mountain.
The apartment feels like a separate structure but sits closely in front of the main house. Everything was as advertised. Parking is a minor inconvenience but would absolutely stay again.
I can’t say enough good things about this property and its owners. David and Pamela were so thorough with their directions and their welcome instructions. When I arrived they suggested places to eat and sites to see the views from the deck are incredible and II can’t say enough good things about this property and its owners. STAYING IN THIS ABOVE GARAGE APARTMENT WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! IN ADDITION TO THE ULTRA CLEAN, GREAT BEDDING & KITCHEN CONVENIENCES, THE HOST/HOSTESS WERE SO PLEASANT, KIND, AND HELPFUL TO SUPPLY EXTRA ICE WHEN WE NEEDED IT! THEY KNOW THE ART OF HOSTING FOR SURE! THE DECK IS COMFORTABLE, W/MOUNTAIN VIEWS WE HATED TO LEAVE! WALKING THROUGH LIVING SMALL RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY PLEASANT ALSO! CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN!
The owners/hosts were extremely thorough in their information regarding parking, entrance, early arrival if necessary, dining recommendations, etc. The unit is in a prime location and was immaculate with high-end but very comfortable furnishings. Our questions pertaining to internet and tv use were answered immediately and they even provided a brief and amusing tutorial to these quasi-technology-challenged seniors. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer but we will most certainly return.
My hubby and I visited for a short getaway weekend over Memorial Day in Black Mountain, a favorite place of ours, to attend an event in town. This retreat was truly a relaxing and cozy space located in a beautiful tucked away neighborhood.
The studio apartment was cozy and relaxing and you can tell the hosts have an eye for detail and decor. The bed was super comfy with quality linens and pillows. The room and bathroom were spotless and surprisingly the bathroom had a very deep tub…a great amenity to have after a long day of walking, touring around or hiking. They also have an amazing, large deck perfect to sit out and relax on while watching the sun set. It features cozy chairs that rock, as well as blankets to curl under and nice lighting.
Dave and Pamela were so lovely and accommodating during our stay. I casually inquired as to whether they had a toaster, which they did not, and I was fine with that. I had the desire to have toast in the morning and was okay without.
What they did do in response? They ran out and got a toaster for me to use, as well as a loan of a stick of butter, just so I could have that toast in the morning. (And it was yummy!)
It was not necessary for them to do that - the stay was amazing as it was, but it was so kind and sweet of them to do. I really appreciated the thoughtfulness.
We definitely recommend this lovely and charming apartment. Perfect for a couples gateway. The photos do not do it justice.
We loved staying at this property! David and Pamela were extremely kind and provided a wonderful, comfy, and beautiful stay as well as recommendations for things to do in the area. The neighborhood was very safe and well located to visit Asheville and other surrounding cities. We would definitely stay here again!
Small space but excellent place for a short rental.
We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, peaceful setting of this rental. It was well-equipped, beautiful, and very comfortable. The hosts communicated quickly and were friendly. The porch off the room had very comfortable seating for a lovely morning coffee and reading. The view was very nice. We definitely hope to return.

Having lived and worked for many years in the scorching lowlands of South Carolina, retirees Pamela (university librarian) and David (literature professor) invite you to savor the air here, where the altimeter reads 2397 ft. and the nearby brook calls to mind Wordsworth's Lucy poems ("And beauty born of murmuring sound / Shall pass into her face").
