Lovely cottage, very sweet and cozy. One of the most comfortable beds! Great location for enjoying wonderful Black Mountain on foot. Hosts were super helpful, warm, and welcoming. Can't wait to stay again next year.

We had the best time at “The Country Girl” and were able to stay 5 nights! The host, Shirley, was so fun to talk to and made sure our stay was thoroughly comfortable and just fun! Also got to meet and enjoy some time with Shiela (property and grounds keeper), who also made us feel welcome and checked on us to make sure we had what we needed! We enjoyed being able to walk about 8 minutes to get to Tomahawk Lake or 5 minutes walk to all the main shops and restaurants. We hiked, shopped, sat on the porch swing for hours and relaxed in this charming cottage

Great location, quiet cottage that is beautifully decorated with a manicured courtyard. The only Bathroom is not on the same floor as the only bedroom. Upstairs ac where bedroom is could not be controlled by thermostat. The stepping stones to get to the cottage were slick in the rain.

Had I known how amazing this property was, I’d have stayed the whole week! The property is awesome and the cottage is just so beautiful. I loved the front porch swing and the decor of the whole place. The gardens were just stunning. I loved to walk around and check out every detail. The location was perfect -easy walk to downtown area and even closer to the lake! But honestly, the best part was the hostess, Shirley. She is interesting and fun and I felt like family. I could’ve stayed there and just hung out with her, her doggo , Sugar and her housekeeper, Shelia. I went on this trip alone and came back with 2 new friends. No wonder people keep coming back. I am already looking for a weekend to return!

The Country Girl Cottage is a peaceful hideaway behind the owner's home, nestled in beautiful, well-tended gardens. The front porch on the cottage is peaceful and wonderful for taking in the view of the gardens, reading, enjoying your morning coffee or your evening wine. The cottage itself is well-equipped and quaintly decorated with antique pieces and also a comfortable sofa for relaxing. The kitchen is small, but perfectly equipped for a weekend stay. We have now stayed at The Country Girl 4 times and will happily return in the future.

We enjoyed our third stay at The Country Girl Cottage over Easter weekend. The cottage is clean, comfortable, well-appointed, and decorated with antiques and other quaint, cozy decor. The surrounding gardens are gorgeous including many varieties of hostas and Japanese maples. The owner/host is most welcoming and helpful. We will return again in July!

Not a spec or dust/dirt in the entire cottage - host is beyond friendly. True love and care has been put into the entire property from the garden to the interior. Would recommend going in the spring/summer to take full advantage of the views.

Shirley and Shelia were great hosts welcoming us to this charming cottage and town. Shirley was a great communicator and had acquired a pack ‘n’ play ready for our infant daughter to make our journey a little easier. We’re so helpful and accommodating throughout our stay.
