The Rustic Rabbit Cabin is nestled quietly amidst the woods and rhododendrons, while still being 18 minutes from all the activity in historic downtown Boone, 30 minutes to downtown West Jefferson, and 30 minutes to downtown Blowing Rock. This private Blue Ridge Mountain retreat in Todd, NC is perfect for a couple or family, and is pet friendly.

Inside the home you will find floor to ceiling windows which give seasonal views in the winter and a tree house feeling in the summer. The living room offers a beautiful wood-burning fireplace faced with stones that were collected from the property. The couch and loveseat will comfortably fit a large family for a movie or friendly board games by the fire. There is a dining table to accommodate seven and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen to prepare meals. For morning coffee, there is bar area with seating for two or plenty of seating on the front porch where you can watch the sun rise over the mountains. Excellent wi-fi is provided and TVs are equipped with ROKU streaming devices. A stacked washer/dryer is also available in the home.

Up the wood & metal spiral staircase (which are steep/narrow and might be difficult for guests that have trouble with mobility), you will find a king size bed, a twin size day bed, and a cozy sitting area where you can enjoy the latest best seller. In the large bedroom off the back of the kitchen there are two sets of bunkbeds. One of the bunks has a full size bed on the bottom. There is an electric fireplace heating unit that not only provides great heat but has fun color changing LED flames. This home comfortably sleeps 7 and has 2 full bathrooms.

Outside you can explore the acre of land where there is a creek to the side of the property and a firepit which provides an excellent spot for roasting marshmallows. If you walk the paths through the rhododendrons you will find a large overhanging rock we like to call “the wolves den.” There is a large deck out front that is equipped with a new gas grill, rocking chairs, string lights, and outdoor dining.

Just minutes down the scenic gravel road is the Blue Bear Campground. You are 4 miles from the trails at Elk Knob State Park which is one of the highest peaks in North Carolina at 5,520 feet and has breathtaking views from the 1.9 mile hike to the Summit. You are just 5 miles to fishing, boating, and tubing on the New River, and 14 miles to Appalachian Ski Mountain. It is convenient to Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson, Tweetsie Railroad, and so many other things to make your mountain stay one for the memories. The house is located off a gravel road which can become icy with winter weather. 4 WHEEL OR ALL WHEEL DRIVE IS REQUIRED FROM DECEMBER THROUGH FEBRUARY.
