We loved all the touches the owner put into this, from Smores, dishes, hammocks to lanterns that made our stay very cozy and welcoming. It was private, peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed the axe throwing and getting on the water in the provided canoe. We'll definitely stay again.

Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay here. The hot tub was amazing and the lighting over it was perfect for a night time dip. It’s small and homie, amazing for someone who just wants a nice little getaway in the woods. The host text us before arriving to make sure we get in safe and made sure we found everything ok. The loft is so cute and everything about this place was so nice. Wonderful spot and will absolutely be staying again.

What an incredible place! A super cute cabin with all the amenities included; a short walk through the woods to a quiet, private pond, with kayaks and canoes at the ready. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to come back with friends. There is some noise from a nearby road, but we didn’t let it bother us. Highly recommended!

Cabin in the woods

The tiny cabin is cute. The loft bed isn’t for the faint of heart. I needed to help my girlfriend get down in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Limited head space so if you’re big and tall, it might not be the place for you. We would suggest maybe a small, comfy loveseat or a bench seat that’s cushioned to sit comfortably when inside for the night. Overall the fire pit was nice, the walk to the lake was short with canoes available. The lake was filled with water lilies and beautiful. We had the lake all to ourselves!

About the host

Hosted by Sherri Simmons

Host profile image
Sherri and Joel are lifelong Mainers who love the outdoors and believe some of life's best moments happen when you slow down and spend time in nature.

Sherri is a middle school math teacher with a passion for designing and building unique tiny cabins. What began as a single cabin project in 2020 quickly grew into a dream. In 2022, they purchased 100 wooded acres so they could continue creating one-of-a-kind getaways where guests can unplug, reconnect, and experience the beauty of Maine.

Each cabin is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted, with custom details inspired by the surrounding forest. From natural wood accents to cozy gathering spaces, Sherri's goal is simple: to create places that feel welcoming, peaceful, and memorable.

Joel works as a labor relations specialist and helps bring the projects to life, while together they enjoy sharing their little corner of Maine with guests from near and far.

We hope you'll love your stay as much as we've loved creating it.

Why they chose this property

Whitefield is a beautiful, small town in Maine. The population is just over 2000 people with a growing Amish community. Tiny Cabins of Maine sits on 100 areas along Givens Pond. Nearby hikes, general stores, and friendly Maine charm make this a unique getaway experience.

What makes this property unique

Maybelle proves that small spaces can create some of the biggest memories. This handcrafted 8' x 18' tiny cabin was thoughtfully designed to make every inch both functional and inviting. Climb into the cozy sleeping loft, relax around the fire, or enjoy a quiet morning with coffee surrounded by the Maine woods.

What makes Maybelle special isn't its size—it's the experience. Every detail was chosen to create a peaceful retreat where you can unplug, slow down, and reconnect with nature. Guests often tell us they're surprised by how spacious and comfortable the cabin feels, and many leave inspired by just how enjoyable simple living can be.

Whether you're escaping for a romantic weekend, celebrating something special, or simply looking for a unique getaway, Maybelle offers an experience that's difficult to find anywhere else.
