This location was perfect for a weekend getaway. We were thrilled at how clean and comfortable the cabin was, and loved having the deck to relax on in the evenings! we were close to wineries, the golf course, and just a quick drive into town for some nice restaurants. We will definitely be back!!

Cabin is very clean, and couches very comfy. Bathroom very roomy as well with LOTS of towels.One mattress was great, the other a little soft.

When I here a report on a mattress of it being "a little soft" I always have to be careful. Is the mattress too soft because its bad? Or is it too soft because the guest prefers a firmer mattress? I am currently monitoring this and asking some more guests....:-) If a new mattress is in order, I will replace it. Meanwhile, some of my other cabins have a firm mattress in them. Feel free to inquire and I might be able to guide you in the right directions.

Steve was quick to respond to texts and easy to work with. Cabin was very clean. A nice basket of snacks was a pleasant surprise. Very quiet and clean surrounding area. We will definitely stay here again.

You will not find a clehaner more beautiful place to stay. This property is located near Makanda and near the wine trails in Southern Illinois. Our only issue was that the description listed DirectTV and there was none- however, we were not there to watch TV. The owner explained that he forgot to take that off of the listing.

The cabin was clean and very comfortable! The kitchen was well prepared with anything you could need to cook with. We enjoyed the grill and were happy to have it available. Steve was great with communication and so friendly! Perfect location for us with our daughter attending SIU. The snacks on the table were a neat added bonus. We will definitely stay again!

Peaceful stay

Cabin was cozy and clean, well equipped. Close to attractions: Giant City State Park and Lodge, Little Grand Canyon, Makanda strip of little shops, Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, late Senator Paul Simon’s final resting place.

Great Cabins

This isn’t our first stay. We’ve been here several times over the years visiting our school while he’s going to school and spending time in the Shawnee area. Great place to stay and convenient to all activities.
