About this property
The spendor's of falls sunshine... Come explore the wonders of the Pacific NW.
To provide our guests a fun and relaxing environment for creating vacation memories on the beautiful Oregon Coast, at an affordable cost.
With an endless supply of fresh air, quiet solitude and views of the spectacular Pacific Ocean. This location is one of Oregon Coasts best kept secrets - an environment where you can explore the beauty and wildlife around you, or just sit back and recharge.
Create new memories at this charming beach front cottage. Located on the renowned Necanicum River Estuary & Neawana River adjacent to Gearhart, this home is just a short walk out to the Pacific Ocean.
Enjoy breathing taking sunsets, fishing, clamming, crabbing and kayaking. The activities you can do are enless. Our home is located north of Seaside and is minutes away from local restaurants, shopping, the Seaside Promenade, public golf courses and so much more!
The living room and dining room offer spectacular views of the mighty Pacific Ocean sunsets. For the weather enthusiasts, the winter storms can provided some breathtaking viewing. Cozy up with your loved ones, friends, or with your favorite book to the warmth of the fireplace insert at this year-around retreat.
There is a newly updated kitchen, laundry room and 1.5 baths. The large back yard has a covered porch, perfect for gatherings and games. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening beverage while taking in the gorgeous view of the mighty Pacific Ocean and Tillamook Head.
The scenery around the home is breathtaking, so bring your binoculars. The rich and varied landscape supports an amazing diversity of wildlife and marine life. Guests can retreat to the back yard to enjoy the habitat around them where you can sit on the patio or around a campfire.
Two pair of Bald Eagles inhabit the estuary, along with Blue Heron, Sea Gulls and other sea birds. Observe them while they hunt for their daily meals. The magnificent Gearhart Elk herd may even make an appearance. Above our couch is a stunning picture taken by local photographer Neal Maine of the elk herd crossing the estuary in front of our home. Neal Maine was the co-founder and first executive director of the North Coast Land Conservancy. Since his retirement from the last trust in 2010, he has pursued his passion for nature photography through PacificLight Images, a partnership with his grandson Michael Wing. Additional wildlife photos by them and other prominent artists can be viewed at the Fairweather Gallery & Home Décor, and at other galleries in the Gilbert District on Broadway Street in Seaside.
A white sandy beach awaits you for building sand castles, flying a kite, or touch football just off the back lawn. For the sea food lover, in the carport there is a clam gun and blue bucket stored in the laundry room, along with a small rake for crabbing. Reference books on crabbing and clamming are located in the wicker baskets.
I recommend using the public access trail to walk on to the estuary / beach. It is located near the carport adjacent to our property. This is the easiest and safest way for our guests of all ages.
For the water enthusiast, bring or rent a kayak, canoe or paddle board to enjoy the solitude of the estuary ~ the activities are endless. . .

About the host
Hosted by Candace Cady
This home has been in our family since 1964. Some of my fondest memories as a child are the family vacations we took to our beach house. Wonderful memories of family reunions, celebrating birthdays or just being together as a family on a fun and relaxing vacation.
As young children my sisters and I enjoyed many days flying kites and building sand castles on the beach in front of our home, flying kites and walking out to the ocean to look for sand dollars. As teenager we were allowed to walk into Seaside to play the arcade games, enjoy the carnival rides or see a movie. With our parents and their friends we learned how to catch crab and oysters. Many nights were spent sitting around a camp fire roasting marshmallows’ for s’mores while watching the sunset.

Stroll across the beach and Necanicum Rivers edge to cross over to the magnificent Pacific Ocean. There you can look for sand dollars and shells, or just enjoy a walk along the ocean.
Enjoy surfing at Seaside's south shore or at Sandy Beach just north of Cannon Beach.
THE PACIFIC OCEAN IS MAGNIFICENT AND BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH. PLEASE BE DILIGENT IN WATCHING FOR SNEAKER WAVES AND LOGS IN THE SURF. . .
