A five-bedroom family home in a quiet neighborhood west of Durango, Colorado. Sleeps 8 across nine beds (three baths). A fully renovated basement game room with foosball table. Mountain views. Purgatory Resort is 25 minutes north. Durango is a year-round destination — this home is set up for both seasons.

THE SPACE
Bedroom 1 is the group room: two doubles, a single, and a bunk bed — five sleep spots. Bedroom 2 is a king. Bedrooms 3 and 5 are queens. Bedroom 4 is a double. Three full baths. The basement game room with air hockey, foosball, and a second living area is the reason families rebook.

WINTER SKI ACCESS
Purgatory Resort is 25 minutes north — 1,635 skiable acres, part of the Power Pass family. Purgatory is one of Colorado's most affordable full-mountain ski experiences: lift tickets, lift lines, and lodging costs run dramatically lower than the I-70 corridor resorts. Terrain is genuinely good — 105 trails, 12 lifts, 2,000-plus vertical feet. Beginner and intermediate skiers rarely notice a difference from Vail or Keystone; advanced skiers get short lines and unpressured tree skiing.

POLAR EXPRESS
The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad runs the Polar Express holiday train in late November and December — pajamas, hot chocolate, and a live reading of the book. Book early; it sells out annually. Even for adults, the winter railroad ride up to Silverton through the Animas Canyon is one of Colorado's better winter day-trips.

THE LOCATION
Durango is a mountain town in La Plata County at approximately 6,500 ft — a comfortable elevation with mild winters compared to the I-70 resorts. Historic downtown, a real restaurant scene, and access to the San Juans in every direction. Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO) is 30 minutes; Albuquerque is 3.5 hours south.

BEFORE YOU BOOK — WINTER NOTES
Primary renter must be 25 or older. $250 security deposit. No pets. Durango sits at approximately 6,500 ft — no altitude adjustment typically required. Purgatory access from the neighborhood is on plowed highway; 4WD is helpful but not strictly required in most conditions. Book the Polar Express early if you are traveling in late November through December — it fills up months in advance.
