CJ's White Pine Cabin — Your U.P. Base Camp

Tucked in the historic copper-mining town of White Pine, CJ's is the perfect launching pad for everything the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Hike the Porcupine Mountains, hunt agates along the Lake Superior shoreline, snowmobile the trails right outside your door, or simply unwind in a space designed to feel like a true home away from home — not a rental. While most homes in White Pine share the same "company house" bones, CJ's has been transformed with raised ceilings and warm wood paneling, giving it the cozy, rustic feel of a genuine cabin retreat.

Sleep Well, Eat Well, Stay Connected!
The master bedroom features a queen Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress. A second bedroom sleeps one, and the living room sleepsofa accommodates two kids or one adult — comfortably sleeping up to five. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the new gas grill comes with propane provided. Both the refrigerator and shower are filtered water. K-cups and bath products are provided, all linens and towels are fresh, and we respond fast when you need anything. Whether you're fueling up with a Keurig or a full drip pot, you'll be ready for the day.

Adventure Is Right Outside!
The Konteka Black Bear Lounge is minutes away and a short drive gets you to Lake Superior's beaches and the Porcupine Mountains. With 500 Mbps internet, Roku, and Sling, there's plenty to do on the nights you want to stay in — just bring your streaming app login info.

A Few Important Notes:
* White Pine is about a 5-minute drive from Lake Superior. The property is not on the lake.
* The private beach will not be available in 2026.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Bins from garage should be taken to curb Tuesday morning by 8AM if it falls during your stay. All garbage must be bagged and in bins.
Due to sanitary precautions, the Jacuzzi jets have been turned off since the water can not be chlorinated for safety in the same way a hot tub can.
Dogs should not be left alone in the house for long periods of time. It's dog heaven in the UP, so please take them with you!

CJ has done great job with this clean, cozy cabin-like rental. Easy drive to Porkies and a relaxing home base. While neighbors were close by, neighborhood was quiet. Great for couple or friends retreat.

We were impressed from the moment we opened the door. The home is immaculate and thoughtful. Everything was available that you needed. Open a drawer and all kinds of clever extras are right there. Overall just a great place to get away and we plan to return for a winter trip next time!

We absolutely loved this cabin, which is remarkably comfortable and even luxy. Everything from the sheets to the beds to the washing machine was top quality. The decor was great, too, with all sorts of interesting objects and readings (loved the Hemingway short stories--and the Calvin and Hobbes). The kitchen is fully stocked. And everything was super clean. All in all, it felt like a home, not a rental. And the proximity to Porcupine State Park is fantastic. CJ recommended a number of hikes that we took, and they were all magnificent (we encountered no one on them, either, which was lovely). We take a trip up to Grand Marais MI every year to see friends, and we will be renting this place again! Thank you for everything.

As a native of of White Pine, I'm excited to open up our home which is just a few miles away from Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains. From agate hunting to skiing the Porkies, jumping off the Bonanza (Greenwoods to the locals) waterfalls to snowmobiling, I've had many adventures in the U.P. I'll never forget... and hope you do the same!

Why they chose this property

Part of the charm of White Pine is the "cookie cutter" suburban layout of matching homes. This company house, however, has been completely remodeled inside with raised, wooden ceilings for a more individual, rustic feel, and all the beds have brand new sheets, blankets, comforters and pillows. No musty bedding or towels! The driveway will be cleared for snowmobile trailers and trucks in the winter.
