Special Sunset View Resort Access and steps to the Restaurant or Pool, A3721C

Stay at Palm Island Resort, located on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast, is the state’s only true-out island resort. No bridges or causeways to the island exsist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting. The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island. Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.
Enjoy access to one of the 5 heated pools, plus hot tub and gas BBQ grills at each pool area. 11 hard tennis courts available for play and always complimentary. Our recreation center, Coconuts, offers a variety of rentals to include golf carts, bicycles, kayaks and beach umbrellas. Our full service concierge can also arrange for everything from massages to fishing charters. Join a complimentary water aerobics class, nature walk or yoga on the beach when scheduled. Whether you wish to spend your time with us on the go or taking it slow, you’re sure to enjoy your new Memories at the Speed of Old Florida.

Everyone who works on Palm Island are helpful and friendly and allowed me to have the vacation we wanted to have. We love the quiet atmosphere and access to the beautiful, uncrowded beach. My husband loves the fishing and I enjoy searching for sharks teeth. It is the perfect place to just get away and relax!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We live 2 hours north in Safety Harbor so understand that the resort and all the amenities are still under reconstruction. Missed having a pool but was not a dealbreaker. If no water can be provided to wash your feet, a tub should be provided so you can fill it with water and at least clean the sand off your feet. Could also provide more dish towels, potholders and a broom and dust pan. We will definitely be back as we've been coming here for 35+ years!! Love Palm Island.

Not such great value for money--check the resort fees

Although the setting for the Palm Island Resort is fabulous and the staff friendly and accomodating, this unit is a bit tired. The carpet could use an upgrade and the kitchen equip minimal. Plus, would be nice to have a well fitting mattress pad. Be sure to check the resort fees and handlings charges as these may add as much as $60+ to the daily rate.

Good, but not the excellence expected for the price

Good things first--beautiful view from lanai, resort staff friendly and helpful, beautiful uncrowded beach with warm ocean water (February), nice pool and barbecues. Problems--whoever said the condo smelled "musty" was being charitable. The smell was overwhelming and required a couple days of airing out. Apparently the world loves hugely fat, fluffy pillows--we do not. The resort staff graciously brought us a few other pillows to choose from, but they were all fat enough to give us neck aches. The furniture was adequate but looked a little "tired". The kitchen was not well supplied. There was no remote for the DVD, so we couldn't enjoy disks we brought. The TV was cantankerous and difficult to use. While there were several lamps that could accommodate 3 way bulbs, none had them and nowhere was there really adequate reading light at night. All that said, we had a nice week. The two restaurants are fun and serve good food. Do plan to unwind and RELAX, because that's about all there is to do.

I've been searching for a place like this for 17 years and I finally found it. The villas are wonderful and clean. You must get a golf cart to drive around the resort, and everyone you see always says hello you don't find that anywhere else on the planet. The staff is wonderful, so helpful.I knew it was going to be a great stay when I received a phone call a week in advance of our arrival. They were letting me know that they were waiting for our arrival and if I there was anything else they could help with.If I had to change one thing, just one little thing it would be to keep the restaurant open later. It closes at 9PM every night. You stay at the beach till 6 or 7 you have to rush to get to the restaurant. Other than that 1 little thing, it really is the perfect vacation spot. I can sum it up like this, if you are looking for a vacation at the beach with lots of people and activities, waiters bringing you cold rum punch and elegant dining, this is not the place. But if you are looking for a relaxing spot to spend with family and friends, no crowds or long lines, the ability to share an entire beach with may 3 others this is the perfect spot.

It has the best beach and amenities. The only downfall is that things are really quiet really early. I'm no party animal but would enjoy using the pool or hot tub past dusk. Great for a group. This was our 2nd trip to the island, this rental had less as far as games, cards, etc. That might be nice to know so you can plan what to bring for entertainment.

The only negative which could not be controlled was the red tide which had everyone coughing and left dead fish on the beach. This was happening all down the west coast not just Palm Is. Just nature.

It was the most relaxing week, the beach is beautiful, the sunsets are extraordinary, the resort staff makes your stay extremely comfortable. My husband and I stayed on Palm island for our anniversary and truly had the best week ever. We opted to rent bicycles instead of a golf cart and had a great time exploring the island! It is a beautiful resort....if you are looking for relaxation look no further this is the place!
