The space is bigger than photos show we felt. Good hang out spot inside and out. Host was friendly and quick to respond when I had questions. Horses right out the back. Beautiful spot!

The property was in a beautiful setting. The cabin was sufficient for our group. The issue was the lack of cell service. It was not easy to reach the host/manager to report a problem/ ask questions. We did enjoy staying there.

We enjoyed our stay. Michelle the host was great. Answered all our questions in a timely manner. It accommodated our party of 13. Hot tub was a hit with the grandkids. Close to all of the tourists stops. Pet freindly It was great we were able to bring our dogs. The only negative was the carpet in the bedrooms was stained and one comforter had stains.

Couldn’t have been any better.

We had four couples staying together and it was the perfect place to give each couple their own space while allowing us to be together in the common areas. We will definately be staying there again in the future.

The cabin was very clean, in a great area, and we had no issues with getting ahold of the host. The only negative is that we had issues with the hot tub, and as a result had several items of clothing get bleached and some of us had chemical burns after only 2 hours in the hot tub. However, they were able to give us a refund for part of our stay because of it, so I would say it was taken care of. I would just be careful and test the water before using it in case it happens again. Overall, I would come back again and we enjoyed our stay!

Great Home Base for Visit

The location was great, very convenient to Mount Rushmore and tourist attractions near there. House was comfortable, pleasant and as described on the listing and properly ready for us. Just had a small issue which was very satisfactorily resolved. Communication with the host was excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Great Place

Booked this for the family and we had a great time. We made use of the fire pit, grill, and hot tub several times, definitely nice amenities on the property. My little niece loved walking over to watch the horses. The trail network that runs right in front of the place was awesome and well kept. The host was very communicative and helpful during our stay. A quick drive to downtown Hill City.

Great Time in the Black Hills

This was the first time our adult kids got to meet each other. The setting was wonderful, close to so much to do. The house was set up so each family had their own space. We loved the hot tub, fire pit and the front porch. It allowed us to have a wonderful time, see and do lots of things in the Hills. Thank you!

Side By Side Trip

Had plenty of room for parking and unloading our side by side vehicles. Living and kitchen area was smaller - worked just fine for our group because we were out on the trails all day. Enjoyed coming back and utilizing the hot tub. Would have been nice to have a bathroom downstairs . Area was nice and quiet - close to a lot of trails.

March 26-27 2025. Family Vacation

Traveling family of five (including 18 year old and grandparents in their 80s).Beautiful location- 3 miles from Hill City. Super close to Crazy Horse. House is minimal but very well equipped and very clean. We had a minor issue with the toilet in the first 10 minutes of our arrival and the home owner responded immediately with some instructions and had someone out to double check within hours. Highly recommend!

Great Location

Beautiful cabin in a great location. Communication was great! Cabin is stock with basic essentials. It snowed the day before we went there which made the scenery wonderful but then also covered the patio and driveway. We did have to wait a bit for that to get cleared but gentlemen came early evening and was pleasant. The cabin could use a deep clean and a few more dish towels and rags. Overall wonderful place! Would stay again.

Great Place for Family Getaway

We got there pretty late in the evening but had no problems getting in the door. Cabin had all the amenities we needed. I would recommend bringing a few more blankets if you have "blanket snobs" like my daughters who want their own fluffy blankets. The property was clean, quiet, and close to everything everyone wanted to see. We all went our own way during the day and then came back to the cabin at night. Can't wait to come back again next year.

Mother's 80th Birthday

We loved being able to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday with family all together. We were able to stay together in a cabin that allowed us to eat together, sleep comfortably, play cards, and watch movies. An added plus was the outside environment. We were able to pet horses, sled and take walks! Peaceful. Pretty. Perfect.

Michigan in the house!

Had a great 3 night stay at Goldfinch in Sept. 2023. It was very convenient for the four of us to have a "home base" while visiting all the local tourist attractions. The horses running each morning behind the house was great! The only issue for us was the second bathroom being upstairs, as it was not easy for some of us "seniors" to climb the steps. Other than that, it was great. Beautiful area!

South Korea meets South Dakota

Our group consisted of two adult couples from Aberdeen SD along with five collegiate International Exchange Students from South Korea. We all loved the rural setting, the kids loved being able to walk out the front door and see the stars in the sky, and we also loved the short and easy drive into Hill City for supplies. Everyone we met in Hill City were extremely friendly, and we also enjoyed being able to hang out together and play games and have snacks and beverages. So much more convenient than a hotel! We had a great time overall!
