About this property

The Washhouse

We are conveniently located along Rt 33 about 10 minutes from EMU, JMU. The George Washington National Forest, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, and numerous caverns provide endless opportunity for outdoor adventures. There is also abundant shopping and dining nearby in Harrisonburg, Dayton, or Bridgewater.

The space
The Washhouse is located on our small farmette in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Since it was the original wash house it sets near our Victorian home and has been renovated into a quaint and cozy cottage. Ground level entrance and a first floor bedroom and bathroom make this a handicap friendly space.

Guest access
Your space will include the entire Washhouse.

Other things to note
You will likely be greeted by our two very friendly English Mastiffs. Please let us know if you have allergies or are uncomfortable with dogs and we will make accommodations for you.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wash House! We were three adults and one baby. My daughter-in-law was participating in a conference at JMU, about a ten minute drive from the Wash House. We also did a lot of regional tourism. Trisha accommodated any and all requests that we made (baby equipment, etc.); we truly appreciated her help. The adorable cottage was very easy to access and the environment so agreeable. Trisha had an amazing supply of snacks, drinks, delicious jams and other homemade products in the kitchen. We loved seeing the children, the farm animals and the amazing Nikita. We really enjoyed the spontaneity of interacting with the family. This corner of our world is absolutely beautiful, and coming back to the Wash House each night finished off each day perfectly. Thanks especially to Trisha for making our stay perfectly relaxing.

We had a lovely stay at the wash house! Trisha and her family were very welcoming and kind. Their 2 dogs were also so friendly and sweet, we loved having them around.
