About this property

Circa 1810 Home - Downtown New Bern Historic District - 2 BRs with King Beds

This unique historic home was originally a dependency to the grand Coor-Bishop House located a half block away, where President James Monroe stayed in 1819 while touring the South.

The home contains two large bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and new King beds with new mattresses. The house also is newly updated with fresh paint, new furniture, luxury linens and amenities and a new gas range in the well-appointed kitchen.

Walk to the riverfront, Tryon Palace and historic downtown and its many restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. Relax on the screen porch. Cruise or kayak the Neuse and Trent Rivers. Take a short 45-minute drive to Beaufort, Oriental, and the beautiful Crystal Coast beaches.
Sorry, but no children under 8 years of age.

PLEASE NOTE: The home is situated on a raised basement with 12 steps from the street level to the front door. All bedrooms are on the second floor.

Why they chose this property

Located steps from the sweet spot of the Neuse River waterfront just off West Front Street and two blocks from magical downtown New Bern, NC, this unique historic property is not a guest house, but a second home wtih a unique address on the owner's property. The location is ideal for enjoying the New Bern lifestyle and is nestled among grand historic homes in the heart of the historic district.

The owner and his partner are next door and generally available and want to do everything they can to make your visit special. Sleep on new luxury mattresses and linens, and enjoy fine hotel-like amenities, including toiletry sets (bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion), gourmet coffee and teas, chilled bottled water, and drink mixers.

Full kitchen with new All Clad cookware and cast iron dutch oven.
