About this property

The Cabin at Wild Harmony Forest, a 475 ac Nature Preserve.

Situated on a 475 acre nature preserve with over 8 miles of private hiking trails is The Cabin at Wild Harmony Forest. The cabin has recently received an update to make it a more inviting and personal space where you can relax and read a book by the gas stove heater, build your own fire outside and enjoy the stars, simply relax in the rocking chairs on the deck, or get an invigorating workout exploring the miles of hiking trails available only to our guests. Your serene adventure is waiting…
Please note: we rented the cabin to a young family for the last couple years. Pics are from before. We are finishing up some repairs and will have new pictures of the exact interior coming very soon!
THE SPACE
All wood cabin best suited for a couple, but can also accommodate 1-2 children as well.
The cabin is two stories with the bedroom upstairs and the kitchen, bath, and living room downstairs.
The bedroom has a king size bed and a twin daybed, and a sofa with chaise. An iron and ironing board are supplied. Room darkening shades help you sleep in if you like.
The living room has a futon sofa, 42” HDTV with ROKU and streaming services, a gas freestanding fireplace, and a breakfast table. An assortment of board games and puzzles are supplied.
The bathroom features a shower and a medicine cabinet with a few bath essentials you may have forgotten.
The kitchen has a full size range, refrigerator, stacked washer and dryer, workstation sink, drip coffee and espresso machines, toaster, and microwave. A starter supply of coffee, tea, and cocoa are provided. Sugar, spices, olive oil, and a full set of cooking utensils are provided. Stainless cookware and a variety of bakeware are included.
Outside on the deck are two rockers and an antique glider. A Broil King Baron gas grill and tools await to extend your cooking options.
In the yard is a fire pit with two Adirondack chairs and sitting rocks. Firewood and fire starting supplies can be provided. Continuing up the road from the cabin gives you access to miles of old logging roads to hike. Explore the views from the ridgeline fields or the many different ecosystems provided by the many small coves and streams throughout the 475 acres of the property. Trail maps provided. All trails are well marked with signage.
Guest access
Hiking trails are shared with other guests, and the owners may be performing maintenance activities on the trails or adjacent farm.
Other things to note
The entrance to Wild Harmony is a well maintained gravel road with gentle inclines. The driveway directly at the cabin is rather steep, but 4WD or AWD is not usually necessary.
The owners’ dogs may be off leash when they are onsite. They are two white shepherds, Bisoux and Sully.
Cell service is weak (1-2 bars) at the cabin. WiFi calling is most reliable.
Situated on 475 acres of forestland, wildlife live here too! Deer and turkey are often seen in the field below the cabin. Black bears also live in the area, but are rarely seen. They have lots of space to wander away from human activities. They are not normally aggressive in any way, and will usually just turn around and go the other way if they see a human.
Removal of any plants, hunting and firearms prohibited.

Mountain hideaway

Chris was great with communication. The road going to the cabin is steep as they describe so be prepared for that. We brought our pickup truck and did just fine. The fire ring and chairs were nice to sit around. The town of Marshall is close by and has some great places to eat. We enjoyed our stay , it was a nice weekend getaway.
