Charming, cozy, and clean cottage perched on the shores of Smith Pond. Excellent accommodations in a stunningly beautiful and peaceful location. The Allens were kind enough to allow us to invite our family of 8 adults and 2 children and 1 dog to share the day with us at the cottage. We had a terrific, fun family day enjoying this wonderful property!
We needed a break from the pace of life and this was the perfect fit. Great view and access to water, kayak and tubing. Bonus we could bring the dog. Limited cell service was a huge plus. House was wonderful with an amazingly stocked kitchen to cook. We had a great time. I would stay here again.
The property was everything I had hope it would be. It was warm and cozy fory October stay. The livingroom gave me the sense that I was on the pond. Bernadette responded quickly to any questions that I had. I hope to return next year.
This cottage was clean, welcoming and it has a beautiful full view of the water! Everything you would need is there. Full kitchen, spices, water for drinking. We absolutely loved our stay here. Our son and his wife just moved here and we drove from WI to spend time with them. We even got to bring our dog along! Thank you Bernadette for sharing your peace of paradise with us!
WI to visit.

Beautiful location but no sheets and hovering host
It was a beautiful location, but linens are not included to our surprise. The host was watching us from the house next-door our whole stay and unfortunately didn’t really get that privacy feeling. It wasn’t until we were getting ready for bed we realized none of the beds had sheets which was shocking.
The host is married to a fireman so making a fire in the back yard is prohibited and you end up only being allowed to have one in the mosquito infested front of the house where the host can monitor you.
I would recommend staying here if you dont mind peeping Tom’s.
House was immaculate. Great kitchen and laundry facility. Bernadette was quick and knowledgeable with ansering questions and area events and activities. Would recommend to all and will be returning.
We loved this cottage and would stay here again. Unfortunately our rental contract didn’t say we needed to do our laundry before checking out. We did strip the beds but didn’t launder the sheets. I got a text from the owner after we were already at the airport that laundry was our responsibility. It disappointed the owner for which I’m sorry.
Very cozy cabin, everything you need to be comfortable. Bernadette and Jim were very hospitable and attentive. 5 stars all the way around!

Nice location, clean, owner very accessible Sheets, towels, check out procedure- unreasonable!!!Wash, dry, fold, put away sheets on morning you leave- absurdDishwasher- clean and put away??Can’t use firepit even though it’s not an open fire and it’s in the front yard- not out back by pond.Should supply sheets and towels!!
The cottage was just as described and our visit was just like those that had gone before-quiet (except for the loons) and restful. The second day we found out we weren’t very far from restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations so everything we might need was within a reasonable driving distance. Thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness and lack of traffic noise at the cozy cottage.
We were happy to find a place close to friends who live in the next town. "Peaceful Waterfront Cottage" was more than that! The minute I opened the door, I knew we were "home." We felt relaxed, loved the view, and enjoyed listening to the loons. This home had more than we would need. When the hosts, Jim and Bernadette, checked in with us, we said we had a question about the TV. They stopped over within minutes and showed their technically challenged guests how to use it! It was lovely meeting them! We hope to return a couple of times next year! Thank you again for sharing your home with us!
My wife, six-year old granddaughter, Labrador Retriever, and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at Smith Pond. The location is beautiful and the cabin was clean and comfortable. We took a rowboat out on the water one afternoon. They also have a kayak that is available. The kitchen had everything we needed and the fire pit was perfect for making s’mores. We highly recommend this cabin.
This was a very nice property. The pond is on the smaller side so no motor boats are allowed. I brought my kayaks and we saw loons, a nice beaver and great blue herons. It was very peaceful, clean and relaxing. I can't say enough good things about our hosts. Jim, Bernadette, and their two dogs. They were in contact immediately after checking in to make sure everything was perfect. Which it was. Excellent hosts and property. 5 stars.
We loved our stay at the cottage, and although the weather wasn’t very cooperative, we had a lovely time playing board games and watching movies. There’s plenty of great options for going on walks and hikes. The cottage itself is lovely and there are so many opportunities to disconnect and enjoy nature and good company
