I asked management before booking whether the pools would be open and whether nearby construction would affect our stay. I was told the pools would be open (they weren’t) and that construction would not affect us “directly," (it did). Apparently, our definitions differ. The main draw of this unit is the view of the ocean and proximity to the pool—yet the pool was drained and surrounded by noisy construction vehicles right outside. We couldn’t enjoy the patio at all. None of the outdoor pools were open, despite our specific inquiry.We did notify management during our stay about the closed pools and disruptive construction. They offered a full refund for the remainder (3 nights out of 4), but that wasn’t a realistic solution. Who wants to spend hours—if not an entire day searching for another rental, hoping there's availability, repacking everything, and dragging luggage around until 3 or 4 p.m. check-in elsewhere? That wasn’t a practical or fair resolution.The property itself shows signs of age and neglect. The back patio door was extremely difficult to open, and the front door shows a fair amount sea damage. Inside, the unit mostly matches the photos, but you can’t see the dinginess in pictures. Everything felt damp—sheets, towels, even the furniture—which made sleeping uncomfortable.
