Once a one-room schoolhouse relocated here in 1857, the School House Cottage is now a charming 1-bedroom, 1-bath retreat overlooking the Mystic River. Featuring its own private entrance, kitchen, and family room, this cozy attached cottage offers privacy with the perfect dose of history.

Wake up to river breezes, enjoy breakfast with a view of the Mystic Drawbridge, and watch wooden ships being restored at the Seaport Shipyard across the water. Thoughtfully furnished in coastal hues and natural textures, this space captures the warmth and authenticity of historic Mystic living—just two blocks from Downtown Mystic.

Guests have private access to the entire School House Cottage, including:

A full kitchen and cozy living room

One bedroom with queen bed and one full bathroom

Although attached to the Captain’s House, the Cottage has its own entrance and separate outdoor area for a peaceful and private stay.

Please note: This is an historic property. Stairs are steep and ceilings are low on 2nd floor.
