I had an enjoyable stay in this welcoming home. The property was in a peaceful neighborhood on a very lightly travelled road. Plenty of hiking opportunities in the area.
Had a wonderful time with the family on the beautiful pond in Hawley. The sunshine and wildlife was great to wake up to and the neighborhood was the perfect quiet getaway.
Perfect spot to relax after white water rafting on the Deerfield. This was our 2nd year here. Owner responds to questions right away. Comfortable beds & seating spaces. The pond is a peaceful spot for an evening glass or morning cup. Kitchen is well equipped & there's a gas grill. We will be back if in the area again.
Tv was a problem that we could not figure out. I’m sure we could have contacted host as he was very responsive on earlier question but missed some football games . Overall the place was fine and served our purpose well. Grade A on cleanliness
Comfortable, quiet and convenient country location. This is our third time staying at the property for fishing and exploring the Deerfield and Westfield rivers and we will definitely return.
Always a pleasure to stay at Flight's End in Hawley. Quiet peacefull and beautiful surroundings. Looking forward to our next trip in 2025.

Great relaxing stay
We had a wonderful couple of days relaxing here. The kids found plenty to do between the pond and canoe, brook, and fields. We visited the nearby Mohawk Trail State Forest and enjoyed it. Everything we needed was available, and the house was very clean.
So peaceful! Very comfortable & has everything you need. Loved having coffe in the morning & a glass of wine in the evening while watching the life on the beautiful pond. We would definitely visit again.

Weekend Getaway at Flight's End
Although brief, our stay at Flight's End was fantastic. The home was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We really enjoyed the beautiful pond view and surrounding countryside. It all made for a wonderful weekend.
This was our second time visiting Flight's End and it was just as delightful as the first. There was a new sofa and everything else was just as we remembered. We took advantage of the quaint surrounding towns for some shopping and lunch, had a fire in the fire pit and enjoyed the coziness of the home.
We enjoyed ourselves immensely, we did find out that the cider festival is next weekend. If we could find out what weekend next year, we would love to book for that weekend.

Glad you had a good time Deb. The annual CiderFest Weekend is always held the first weekend of November.
Flight's End was more wonderful than we anticipated. The home is cozy with all the things you need for a relaxing visit. We enjoyed the beauty of the area, the excitement of the pond (kayaking, otters, beavers and ducks) and took some of the helpful suggestions of our hosts. We will definitely be bac!
Property was as described. Clean, well appointed. Very quiet and serene area and neighborhood. Pond just across the street is nice to look at but tremendous amount of canadian geese droppings made walking anywhere near it unpleasant.
Flight's End is coming home, welcoming and comfy. We loved the pond room and enjoyed the ducks every day. This is a definite plus to relaxing. Would recommend this home to families who love the country. Fall foliage, one of the reasons we come to MA, was awesome. We also have relatives in the area so this home is very convenient for us.
My partner and I were in MA to drop our eldest at Smith College for their first year. We chose Flight's End for the location and the fact that we were allowed to bring our pups with us. It was incredibly peaceful and just what we needed during an otherwise emotional time with such a big transition for our family.

Guests were great, they followed the rules, particularly the rules for what to do before you check out. Not all guests do.
We loved the location! The property was beautiful! Loved the pond & wildlife.
The house was just like the photos. 3 comfortable bedrooms, and bare mattresses in the basement. (We all enjoyed the upstairs bedrooms.)
The only bummer was that the washing machine was broken.... which was one of the reasons we chose this house, since we were in town for work and needing to wash our work clothes throughout our stay.

About the host
Hosted by Kirby R Thwing
My grandparents bought the property in Hawley in the 1920. I spent summers in Hawley as a youth. The family built this house in the 1980s and my kids grew up spending vacations there. Now the grandkids and young cousins come to visit. We want others to enjoy the house and the location as much as we do! My daughter is taking over the property, so we'll continue to host in the future.
Why they chose this property
I built this house for my parents to live in and planned to retire into it when they no longer needed it. I retired while they were still in it and I bought the house of my aunt and uncle, just up the road.
My cousin lives next door to me and just up the road from this rental house. He is a wealth of information about the area and the countryside. He'll be sure to stop by if you are outside.
What makes this property unique
What is unique about this area is its quiet - no stores, no street lights. But there is plenty of wildlife: ducks and geese, turkeys, moose, bear, deer, rabbits, hawks, foxes, loons, beaver, and coyotes. You get the idea, I think. The stars are very bright at night and the brook can be heard from far away. Trees, stone walls, ponds and streams abound. Hawley's population is a whopping 320 hearty souls. Just sitting and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature is rejuvenating.
