Located near the junction of Glacier Highway and Back Loop Road this sweet 3 bedroom 11/2 bathroom is half of a side by side ranch style duplex connect at the garages. If you are traveling with friends / family and want to be near each other but not in the same space consider booking Mendenhall Valley Sweet Spot I (Yellow Door) and II (Red Door). Be minutes away from Mendenhall Glacier (2 miles) with its surrounding trials and lakes or Auke Bay ( 4 miles) where whale watching, kayaking and other adventures await. A sweet home away from home with clean, comfortable furnishings, cable TV, and high speed internet. Within walking distance is Melvin Park which has ball fields and a small playground. Super Bear and Safeway grocery stores are 2 miles straight up the street. The airport is 3 miles away. The ferry terminal is 5.5 miles away and downtown Juneau is 11 miles.

This was the perfect place to stay during our trip to Juneau. Check-in was seamless, the house was clean, the bed were comfortable, and the amenities were great. Highly recommend for anyone with an extended stay, it's like a home away from home!

This is a great place if you are going to the Mendenhall glacier or Saint Teresa grounds. It is also close to the Mendenhall river and is in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Juneau stay

Overall our stay was really great. However, the place was listed as a space that has bunkbed, and in reality that was not true. One of our guests ended up on an air mattress in the livingroom (the host provided this) but it wasn't ideal. Would be great if the listing had be updated with the change to a trundle bed. Unfortunately we tried the dish washer, and it did not work. We ran it 3 times and dishes were still filthy. We ended up washing dishes by hand and buying our own dish soap. It was a LOVELY neighborhood, and we enjoyed the kitchen and dining room. The laundry was very helpful for us on this trip and otherwise really loved our stay here and in Juneau. The host was responsive with our communication about the lack of a fourth bed and provided the air mattress and extra bedding.

We are a family of 6 including our cat Skippy. My husband and I both graduated from Juneau Douglas High School and the University of Alaska Southeast. We love the community of Juneau and all it offers.

Why they chose this property

Tom loves this property for its location at the end of a quiet street in a nice neighborhood close to the Mendenhall River. It is one story with a flat lot and plenty of parking. He also likes that it is close to glacier lakes and Auke Bay Harbor for fishing. While working on the property, I found I enjoyed hearing the sound of the Mendenhall River and the occasional "Whoo hoo" of rafters going through the rapids.
