About this property
Stylish Cabin with Stunning Mountain/Forest Views
This log cabin is located on a private dirt road on the north side of Strawberry mountain, with the valley below and the mountain behind the house. It`s peaceful, quiet, you`ll rarely see a car go by and almost never anyone walking by. It`s surrounded by tall pines, junipers, and oaks.
When it rains or when snow is melting, the creek flows over the little bridge on the road. It`s a quick walk down to it, and a short steep walk back up!
It`s a joy to stay here if you love solitude and privacy
The cabin is airy and light, with many amenities to make your stay memorable! The lot is surrounded by tall ponderosa pines, oak, and juniper trees. It is lush and green in the summer, yellow and orange in the fall, and opens up the views in the winter when the leaves are gone.
MAIN FLOOR
There is one large bedroom next to the full bathroom on the main floor, with a top-rated Helix king bed, an adjustable stand-up desk and printer, a 6-drawer dresser, and a large closet with shelves and hangers. Plush robes are provided.
There is a spacious and very well-stocked kitchen with an induction stovetop, microwave, and a big refrigerator that has a built-in water pitcher and makes 2 sizes of ice cubes. It has a large island that makes it easy to all pitch in and prepare meals together.
Connected to the kitchen is the living room, which has the most amazing chalet window looking out to the forest. It has comfortable seating, a big Roku TV, and a wood stove to keep you warm October1-May 1. We even provide the wood and some fire starters.
LOFT
Another sleeping area is in the loft. There is a queen Helix bed there, a dresser, and a half-bath in the loft with only a toilet and sink.
A twin bed with 3 beanbag chairs and a Roku TV are in the secret hideaway room. See if you can find it! There is a skylight in the room, and for night-time, a lamp that shines stars across the room. An air mattress can be set up, also.
There is a twin bed in the nook of the downstairs living room. In addition to an extra place to sleep, it can be used as a day bed for a nice nap or for watching the Roku TV.
OUTSIDE
The front porch runs along the width of the cabin. On the partially covered porch, there are several seating choices, and a pub table for two to enjoy lunch outside. Put some black-oil sunflower seeds out and squirrels, chipmonks, and birds will come once they get used to you. There is also a propane grill on the porch.
There is a 6-seat dining table outside in the yard for enjoying al fresco meals. In the open area of the yard, you can sit outside and enjoy a propane fire, or turn off all the lights and have the most amazing star experience you can imagine. Truly, it`s magnificent.

This cabin is located just above the foot of Strawberry Mountain, and while there are a few houses nearby, it`s very quiet and secluded. You`ll need 4wd or chains if it`s snowy, but other than that, a regular sedan can easily make it up the hill.
In the winter, we get can sometimes get a lot of snow and the county doesn`t plow it. If we can`t clear it or get someone to clear it, you`ll need 4WD and/or chains to get up the hill and down the driveway. It`s unpredictable how much and when we’ll get snow, and can`t promise that it will be clear.
You may want to consider travel insurance from November through March since we don’t refund based on weather and closed highways and roads. We recommend travel insurance anytime, really. Airbnb has an option for it.
There is no fenced yard for your dogs, and we don’t allow you to tether them when you are not with them. Keep your pooches safe, don’t leave them alone outside. That goes for young children as well, there is a steep ravine that runs along the side of the lot.

About the host
Hosted by Debbie Burney
We are Dave and Debbie, and we love sharing our cabins in Pine and Strawberry. We have a home in Chandler, but love being in one of our three cabins, part of the Rustic Luxury Cabins group. We provide you with a digital guest guidebook once you book, and it has our whole story of the cabins.
Why they chose this property
We love the quiet and the seclusion of this little private neighborhood. There is only on other full-time neighbor, so you'll rarely hear a car or see people walking by. Occasionally people in side x sides ignore the private drive sign, but it's rare.
*There is a log cabin being built below us. You can't see it, but occasionally there is noise from the construction on weekdays. The price reflects this slight disturbance.

What makes this property unique
The Stargazer Cabin is a real log cabin, and everyone who experiences it, loves it. I wanted a cabin with amazing views, and this one has a soaring chalet window in the living room that makes the room bright, but faces north so it's not too sunny or hot. While it's a log cabin, it's also modern and stylish inside.
The walls and some ceilings are tongue and groove pine, and we've left a lot of space unencumbered so it feels spacious and not crowded with stuff. Plenty of room for yours! There are skylights, lots of windows, and room to breathe the fresh mountain air.
