The John Pope cabin is a real treat to stay at. The history and beauty of the cabin and property are amazing. Judith has done a fantastic job decorating the cabin! She is very welcoming and responsive to any questions. Would love to stay there again if the opportunity arises.

"Like stepping back in time" Beautiful property and lovely rustic cabin. Loved the outdoor shower and claw foot tub. We hosted a small brunch on the front porch after a Shenandoah mountaintop wedding. The bride and groom were blessed with a beautiful day and a gorgeous backdrop for photos. We loved relaxing on the porch swing while taking in the beautiful fall view with the mountains in the background. We would definitely stay again when visiting the area.
Best experience I’ve had booking on Vrbo! Nicest people and fantastic property! So relaxing and beautiful and fun. Highly recommended!!

Every detail of this immaculate 1800s cabin was perfect. I’ve never been so happy to be without a TV! The views are breathtaking and the sounds? Just nature! The hosts were so welcoming and we already want to go back.

Loved having Jennifer and her partner( and their pups). They are a lovely couple who respected the cabin and took notice of our late 1800 cabin decor! They are always welcomed with us!
We loved everything about our stay here! The cabin is beautiful, cozy, well maintained, and Judith put a lot of extra touches that made it especially nice. I highly recommend it for a nice quiet getaway.
We absolutely loved our stay in the cabin! We enjoyed seeing the deer and the fireflies at night. Judy was an amazing host and made sure we had everything we needed. We were spending time in at Shenandoah National Park and the location was perfect. The outdoor shower was honestly a high point! We fully recommend the cabin. We played so many games and read lots of books as a family. Lots of room out front for our dog to run around and our daughter to play soccer.

Thank you so much Demelza. We surely enjoyed having you three and your pup. Thank you so much for choosing us.
This was a perfect stop on our way south. Private with very pretty views. Trails around the property were very nice and my dog loved it! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Taylor…you folks were great guests! Thank you for choosing us.
It's very welcoming place. The host is abundantly helpful on any request. Cabin was clean and ready for us with all necessary supplies. It is one of the best places for enjoying the Fall. Thank you for having us, it was fabulous!
We kept our dog on a leash but did not see much wildlife. The grounds and view of the ridge, and the sunrise, were lovely. We enjoyed the claw footed tub as well as the hot outdoor shower and watching the stars come out at the well equipped fire pit. We didn’t cook much, but the antique oven was darling and we would have loved streaks on the bbq. Highly recommend if you don’t have a problem with stairs to the bathroom. Just 25 minutes to anywhere in Front Royal.
The cabin is truly authentic. To be able to step back in time and get the experience of mid 19th century living while still having some of the modern day facilities. My wife still talks about her soak in the tub. I found the outdoor shower refreshing. The firepit and hammock are a great way to relax and enjoy the fresh air and starlit night. Judy was an attentive and responsive host. The stay exceeded our expectations. We are already planning our return but with family so we can share this experience.

Robert…You and your wife are wonderful guests! Thank you for choosing us!
This is a beautiful old cabin that has been really well maintained/renovated, and is on a large lovely farm property in the Shenandoah area. There's lots of great scenery, hiking, etc nearby. It's comfortable, cozy, and the owners are friendly and kind!
Two minor points of caution - if you need Internet connectivity, you won't get it here. The cabin's Wi-Fi is via a T-Mobile hotspot, but the weak cell connection goes in and out. Also, the cabin is not accessible to those with mobility limitations. e.g. the bathroom and bedroom are as far apart as possible, requiring traversing 2 flights of steep stairs.
Having said that, this is a great cabin that I'd recommend to any able-bodied visitors of the area.

Hi Erik: wanted to let you know that right after your visit we got Starlink. Hope all is well! Have a great Thanksgiving.
Lovely, quiet spot. Very relaxing. Read the property details carefully as it a bit precarious going up and down the stairs, especially during the night.
