Magical. Enchanting. Serene. Through the years, locals have heard the many words tourists have found to describe the Chama Valley. Nestled between the Rocky Mountains, across the street from the historic Cumbres & Toltec Railroad, sitting right downtown, and within walking distance from the Valley’s oldest standing commercial building, Foster’s, which has been around since 1881, sits a two-bedroom apartment rich with its own history, awaiting your arrival. Whether you’re wanting to ride the train, immerse yourself in nature, or enjoy a cup of coffee in a small, local cafe, you really can have it all when you stay on the Other Side of the Tracks. Our recently remodeled apartment features views of the train, plenty of parking space, and free Wi-Fi. Conveniently located in the heart of town, the opportunities for your getaway are endless. Mountains, rivers, wildlife, and more surround us here! We are so grateful you have decided to visit Chama, and we can’t wait to hear the words you find to describe your stay with us.

We came for the train ride back from antonito co. It wa soooo beautiful and the weather was gorgeous! The place we stayed was very nicely redone. We are coming back in October next year!!
Very nice to walk across the street to get on the train. Communication with the property manager who went the extra mile to ensure our stay was first rate.
A very large property! Pictures are some of the most accurate we’ve experienced on VRBO. (Please note that unit is UP the 16 outside steps shown in the pics.) Found WiFi to be a bit spotty depending on where we were in the unit. Had no difficulty logging in to robust WiFi at the other locations on our trip. The decor was practical, current and just plain fun in some areas - chandelier over the tub, a bajillion drawers in bath and kitchen. Right across the street from the train depot.

The property is very pretty and has a great view of the adjacent railyard. The shower in particular is a marvel. Downtown Chama is a sleepy place so if you're hunting for a bustling metropolis you are out of luck, but the mountains, deer and elk are worth the stay here.
was not aware of the stairs , (that was a bit of a challenge for an 83 year old .....but they were deep and wide and had strong hand rail).....everything was wonderful...couldn't ask for more...
