THE SETTING
Hansville sits at the tip of the Kitsap Peninsula, one of the most quietly spectacular corners of the Pacific Northwest. Far enough from the city to feel genuinely remote. Close enough to everything to feel free, not stranded. The neighborhood is peaceful and unhurried - you might spot a family out for an afternoon walk on horseback.
Three ferry routes put downtown Seattle within easy reach, whenever you're ready for a day in the city: the Kingston Fast Ferry (40 minutes, passenger only, walk-on to Pier 50), the Bainbridge Island Ferry (35 minutes, vehicle and passenger, lands near Pike Place Market), or the Edmonds Ferry (30 minute crossing, ideal if you're driving in). Come home each evening to the kind of quiet that resets everything.
A hiking trail runs directly from the property, facing a horse farm across the road. Mother Pearl sits between two of Puget Sound's historic lighthouses: Skunk Bay Lighthouse (a private, federally commissioned light that has guided ships through these waters for generations) is your nearest neighbor. Point No Point Lighthouse, the oldest on Puget Sound, is a short drive north. Very few places in the Pacific Northwest can make that claim.
The Skunk Bay Lighthouse is strictly private, but its distinct red light adds quiet charm to our neighborhood on clear nights.
Cozy up by the fireplace and watch majestic bald eagles and ospreys soar above the Sound. This is the Pacific Northwest as it was meant to be experienced.

Thank you Rick - so glad you enjoyed your stay! You were a great guest who kept our place very clean. We would definitely love to have you stay with us again.
The house was very comfortable, well-stocked & in a gorgeous setting overlooking the water! I also loved the privacy of the property. We had a mini-family reunion with 6 adults (2 local) and everyone loved the place. If we return to the area, we'd love to stay again!
Just as described. Fantastic views of Whidbey Island. We enjoyed watching the various boats and ships every day. Easy access to so many places by either a short drive or ride on the ferry. Host was wonderful and quick to respond to our questions. Everything we needed was there and ready. We are looking forward to our next visit already.
All we expected and more. Great views. Lovely house. We relaxed, walked on the beach, watched boats come and go, saw beautiful sunsets, and felt refreshed. House had everything we needed; we cooked in and also ate at the Hansville Grill which has great sandwiches. Lots to do in the area, but our favorite is just walking on the beach.

My family and I had such a wonderful and relaxing time at this gem of a property. The entrance to the driveway takes your breath away and then it just keeps getting better. My parents, husband and children all had plenty of room to strech out and enjoy the view...which you can do from every room. I can't rave enough about this house. If you are looking to stay in the are - this is the place!
We had a great stay - it was my mom, sisters and sometimes day visitors incl my son and girlfriend, husband and niece. The house was so well equipped, we could have made gourmet meals, but didn't. We had breakfast in town, went to the beach and just enjoyed the most beautiful view. Stella was so quick to respond to any issue we had.
One note: if you are bringing a dog, note that you need to register it when you are booking, as there is a separate charge.
I will start with the view. 10/10, absolutely magnificent.
The beds are comfy, with good quality bedlinen.
Check in process was easy and the host sent an email on our first day to check in with us and make sure everything was Ok.
We had great weather when we first arrived, and the house was pretty warm, but we opened windows and doors, and it cooled down great. The 4th bedroom is on the top floor, rmthat was much warmer, we didnt use that bedroom.but if you come in the heat of the summer know that the 4th room will be warm.

Thank you for this candid review Marie. Glad you enjoyed the views and your stay overall. The bedroom upstairs does get warm most of the year which is a plus in the winter. In the summer though, we have a portable air conditioner in the closet in that room, and we will make sure to place it in a more obvious location for future guests.
Thanks again for staying with us

About the host

Dog mom to a very opinionated French Bulldog, and completely captivated by the Pacific Northwest. I created The Pearl as the kind of place I’d want to stay - where the water is always visible, the kitchen is actually equipped, and the quiet is real. I care deeply about the details that make a stay feel like home rather than a rental. Whether you’re coming for water views, the sunsets, the eagles and the trails, or just to reset, you’re in good hands.
Why they chose this property
Hansville is a quiet and friendly neighborhood at the tip of the Kitsap Peninsula, one of the most breathtakingly beautiful corners of the Pacific Northwest. Just 60 to 90 minutes from Seattle, yet a world away. The kind of place where you might spot a family out for a morning ride on horseback.
What makes this property unique
The Pearl sits between two of Puget Sound's historic lighthouses, steps from a protected wildlife sanctuary. Waterfront, private gym, genuinely dog-friendly, and 20 minutes from the Seattle ferry. It's the kind of place I'd want to stay, where the water is always visible, the kitchen is actually equipped, and the quiet is real.
