Enjoy the view from the deck. This space is great for a quiet weekend away from the city. You can explore Carmel Valley, Monterey and Big Sur, or simply enjoy the peacefulness of the property and surrounding atmosphere itself. The kitchen is perfect for small meals. Cooking utensils, dishes, pots and pans, a refrigerator, electric stove, microwave and ingredients such as olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee and filters are provided. Consider stopping for groceries prior to your arrival, especially if your stay is only for one night, as Carmel Valley village is the nearest town for any groceries (8 miles, 15-20 minutes drive). Main home next door may be occupied during your stay. Please ask, if this is a concern for you. PETS: If you bring a pet, and the pet causes damages, you agree to pay for such damages (door scratches, stained couches, etc). You must ensure they will not scratch any doors or go on the beds or sofas. Carmel Valley Veterinary Hospital offers really reasonable rates to board your dogs if this is an option for you. The pet fee is $50. Make sure to bring all of your groceries and beverages as you are a 15-20 minute drive from Carmel Valley village and there is no grocery store nearby. I will provide basic items like olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee and filters. Wifi: provided by Razzolink via satellite internet. I have ATT and can receive phone calls without wifi. GPS will take you past our entrance because our location is not accurately marked on GPS. Please follow my picture check-in instructions. The drive to this property is on a narrow, winding country road which is dark at night. Please plan to arrive during daylight if it is your first time at the property. Do not plan to travel into town to restaurants or weddings for heavy drinking and expect to drive back to the home safely. Use pull-out spots to pull over for locals that may be driving faster.

The hot tub with the valley view was amazing! Appreciate how responsive Daniel was through the process before we even checked in! The only thing we were a little disappointed about was the fact that it didn’t say anywhere that it was a guest house connected to a main house which could potentially be occupied Otherwise we would stay here again for sure! It was the perfect getaway for a couple
We got here for some R&R after a long road trip. It was perfect for that. Once we got to the top of the hill (be prepared for that drive) all we wanted to do was relax and enjoy the view. We're sure you'll enjoy this beautiful home as much as we did.
I was surprised at how clean and accurate the pictures represented the property! I loved the scenery and down to the detail of the owner having all necessary amenities as well as great communication!
Great couples getaway. The deck with fantastic mountain view sunsets and hot tub made for a memorable stay. Place was cozy and well maintained and right size for a couple. Only nitpicks were the spiderwebs on deck fencing and a couple of blinds that need replacing.
Want a few great nights in the mountains where the Milky Way is visible at night? The jacuzzi was perfect to sit back and relax for few hours while enjoying some of the great wine that the region has to offer. Highly recommend for a local get away or for out of towners trying to check out the area.
This is the second time I’ve stayed here, and loved it all over again. This is a great choice for travelers who are out all day/evening, and those who like to stay put. The drive to the house is beautiful, the bed is extra comfy, and the view is unbeatable - especially the stars from the hot tub! Safe, quiet neighborhood too!
Lovely property the views are spectacular.
If you are looking for a romantic getaway this is it.
Well equipped. Super comfortable bed.
Hot tub is a very nice addition.
Mom and I had a great time on her bday getaway. The guest house is super cute and we enjoyed the different views every night. From the fog rolling in to a big starry canopy, we built a fire both nights and watched Antiques Roadshow with yummy dinner finds from Jerome’s in town. The drive is a wind-y one but you truly get the feeling of being on top of the world. Very quiet neighborhood - the other rental was empty so we had the place to ourselves. It would be fun to rent the larger property and try out the pool. Our hot tub was great - perfect temp at 104 for relaxing before bed. The couch for TV is comfy but loveseat size so no sprawling out. Overall a really cool space and place to take in the ever changing views.
Unfortunately we only crashed for the night, so we don't have a ton of insight. However, the little time we spent here was very pleasant. It was clean, cozy, and of course the view was incredible. I was say that the drive and seclusion is something to be aware of, for sure. But all of that is laid out in the post, so we were ready for it. Highly recommend and wish we could have spent a little more time here because it was a very cozy little getaway.
NOT SECLUDED: the photos do not show that this cabin is in the backyard of a larger house… there is a large pool right outside the bedroom that was used each morning by very loud girls…If you’re looking to mostly be in Carmel by the sea, don’t stay here. The drive is so long and exhausting at the end of the day, incredibly difficult to do at night, right of the side of the mountain. Fine drive during the day. On the other hand, even if you want a secluded stay in the mountains, this isn’t the place because of the house right in your background. But, I will say, cozy cabin. Beautiful view. Hot tub worked great. Host was easy to work with. Your call to make.

The Roads Are Scary
Overall, our stay was okay, knowing everything I know now I would not book again.
The roads to get there were scary! The GPS took us to the wrong location and led us to a frustrated neighbor down the road who said this happens 4-5 times a week. Thankfully, he pointed us in the direction of Sky Ranch.
As for the rental itself, the hot tub never got hotter than 99 degrees, and the couch was not comfortable. We also lost power a few times for multiple hours, which was inconvenient no lights no running water.
On the positive side, the property is cute, with a nice fireplace and great views. We even saw deer in the mornings.
We stayed here on a road trip for our wedding anniversary. Location was incredibly romantic, with gorgeous views from the hot tub. The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and well-furnished. The neighborhood is quiet too!
I want to share one small complaint—the communication left much to be desired. The property is in a remote location up beautiful, winding mountain roads. (Note: the drive is a little harrowing if you aren't used to that kind of road.) Due to being so far out there, map apps do not provide an accurate location. Furthermore, cell phone reception is fairly poor which makes navigation a little more tricky. If we had experienced difficulties finding the place, I worry that we would not have received prompt help. I think in the future it would benefit from more detailed check-in instructions with photos and possibly even an annotated map of the area.
Other than the above minor caveats, I absolutely recommend staying here if you are passing through the area.

Unfortunately, we were there when the Timberlake fire was occurring and air quality was dangerous when we got there and hazardous by the time we had to leave a day early because of the air and when there were ashes on our car. We asked for a refund since of the hazardous conditions for our final night but were declined. The small house itself can use some tender, loving care. Broken shade in the kitchen. No soap for the shower. Two wash clothes and towels for two people for a week. No mattress cover or pillow covers under the bedding. Very minimal kitchen. One spoon. Really uncomfortable couch. But the view is spectacular and the serenity, when there aren’t kids in the bigger house right next to it, was peaceful. The hot tub is the best part of the property once you got past all the spiderwebs around the fencing around the deck. A little hard to get to. Carmel Village is charming and the location to get to Monterey and Carmel was perfect. Would we stay there again or recommend to friends who also use Vrbo a lot? No.
My family and I booked both the main house and the cottage for a weekend getaway, and it was absolutely perfect. I was lucky enough to stay in the cottage, which provided the ideal balance of privacy and togetherness. It gave me my own peaceful space while still being able to enjoy time with my family throughout the weekend. The views were stunning, and the cottage itself was incredibly relaxing, clean, and beautifully maintained. It truly felt like the perfect escape. The only suggestion I would make is to download or screenshot all check-in information before arriving at the property. When we arrived, we didn't have cell service and realized we hadn't saved the Wi-Fi details. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi information wasn't posted anywhere in the main house, so we had to leave the property to find service and access the check-in instructions again. Having that information readily available on-site would make the arrival process much smoother.Other than that, our stay was fantastic. We had an amazing family vacation and thoroughly enjoyed the property. I would absolutely return—whether for another family trip or a remote getaway with friends.
Perfect rental for our honeymoon. Lives up to the pictures and was clean and very comfortable. We loved it! Restaurant and winery recommendations were fantastic as well!
