The property was very clean and spacious. The amenities like the grill, fire pit and hot tub made the evenings complete. Great location for downtown Newport, the polo grounds and the beaches.
The house comfortably fit our family of five with a spacious yard for lawn games. We enjoyed the hot tub daily and fire pit a few times as well. 10-15 minute drive to beaches and downtown Newport while quiet enough to relax. The downstairs great room & ping pong was a huge plus. The modernized amenities and overall cleanliness made our stay extra enjoyable.
We stayed at Harvey House while in town for a wedding. The location was spectacular, when the listing says you are close to everything, they mean EVERYTHING. Beach - 5 minutes, shopping - 5 minutes, dining - 5 minutes. The house itself was great for my family of 5. There were a ton of activities, the putting golf mat and ping pong were big hits. The backyard was a great relaxing spot, and the hot tub was the perfect cap to a night. We definitely recommend the house to anyone. You won't be disappointed with anything.
When we first pulled up to the property, I was a bit taken back by how small it looked from the street, especially for what I had paid. Once inside though, it was larger than my initial take and the downstairs added to the overall size. The house was well laid out and had just about everything we needed (except it was missing throw rugs which I ended up purchasing for both entrances and both bathrooms). The backyard was nearly perfect with hot tub, fire pit, fenced yard, table, umbrella, and Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. The only thing I thought needed attention is that the cement in the backyard could definitely use a pressure wash (very dark). There was also a bucket of chemicals behind the hot tub that probably could have been moved out of sight. Other than that, we found the property perfect for our stay. It's in a great location close to beaches (we ventured to 2nd beach for a swim and lobsta' rolls), downtown Newport (for the wedding we attended at the Fort), the Wharf for strolling/dining, and Newport bridge (TF Green Flights and Rental). The weather was perfect and I got to meet up with old friends from my childhood. A couple small nits, there was no sponge for cleaning dishes and only 1 yellow trash bag under sink; trying to fit everything into it for a 5 day stay with my crew was impossible so a friend ended up taking white trash bags to Portsmouth dump instead. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely like to stay here again.
We stayed for a girls weekend and didn't want to leave. They house was perfect. We utilized the hot tub and outdoor dining space. Kitchen had literally everything we needed. House was very clean. We utilized the garage for a car. House was close to everything in the area. Lunch at the winery, Dinner at the Cooke house, drinks at Wally's all great spots. Binder had all the information for the house we needed. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you plan on renting and utilizing the fire pit, bring a poker. Host was very responsive. Thank you Denisa!!
