Beautiful vacation stay. Beds comfortable, wonderful breezes off the pond in the evening. Water clear and delightful. Lovely flower garden. Utilities excellent. Being your own spices other than salt pepper and cinnamon. Sharp knives made food prep a pleasure. Eco friendly cleaning products. Super responsive hosts. Lovely place. Our dog was in heaven.
We loved our stay. The house is so
Comfortable and a perfect spot to
Call home base for lots of local hiking. The pond is gorgeous and the water is so clean and great for swimming!

Disliked: Cleanliness
The house and location are top notch, and we would consider returning, but not unless the following issues are addressed:1. The two queen beds were extremely uncomfortable. They felt like decades old mattresses that squeak with every move. Our guests had to leave after one night because the guest bed was so bad.2. There is clearly a mouse problem. We heard mice in the walls, and the top shelf in the guest bedroom closet was covered with mouse poop. I suspect the owners are aware, as those audio pest repellers were plugged in all over the house.3. The owners failed to disclose the existence of cameras, one of which pointed to a very private location on the deck.4. The owners failed to disclose the fact that the balcony from the main bedroom could not be used.
This gorgeous lakeside house is even more pristine than in the photos. It is extremely clean with a beautiful and cozy interior. The house includes all of the amenities you could want. The view is magnificent and the lake is perfect for swimming. I highly recommend this house for a restful and relaxing getaway!
We enjoyed the comforts of this house set on a bluff overlooking a wonderful NH pond. The house had all the conveniences such as a well-stocked kitchen, laundry, ample room to spread out and read, and a lovely setting. We enjoyed the view, went swimming, and canoeing. Recommend it as a peaceful getaway.
The house was clean and welcoming, check in was easy. The pond was so peaceful, clean, at the end of a quaint neighborhood. We loved the house and our stay but had to cut our trip short a night because the beds were very uncomfortable.
this is a beautiful location. The house was in good order and views are amazing, swimming in the pond, kayaking, and even on the rainy days just enjoying the serenity of this special place. The only surprise was ta groundskeeper but not intrusive. Overall, this is the best VRBO we’ve ever had.
Peaceful, Beautiful, and Exactly What We Were Looking For
This house was exactly as described—very clean and well-stocked, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It sits on a stunning, peaceful lake, and we loved using the fire pit every night. Being the last house on a dirt road, we truly felt tucked away in nature, which is exactly what we wanted. Our dogs had the time of their lives swimming and exploring, and we enjoyed peaceful mornings and evenings listening to the owls and loons. We took the rowboat out for a bit of fishing—no luck, but as they say, it’s called fishing, not catching. A brief power outage due to high winds was handled quickly and professionally—the owner responded right away and kept us informed until everything was back on.Some past reviews mentioned uncomfortable beds, but we didn't find them to be an issue. The main bed did squeak a little, but nothing that affected our sleep. There’s no reason that should keep anyone from booking this place—we had a great time. It’s a true backwoods retreat, so you may encounter a few spiders or other critters, but nothing unexpected for a home in the woods. The sunroom-style space with screens was a perfect spot to relax away from the bugs and enjoy the view. We’ll definitely be back!
We stayed at the cabin on the lake for a long weekend in the fall and had a great time. The amenities in the cabin are just as described and the cabin was super comfortable for my family of five. The pond itself was super quiet being the fall and we enjoyed a few nice canoe paddles with the local loon. The end of the road location was great and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Would highly recommend!
We loved it! The home is in a beautiful area of New Hampshire. The property is really pretty with lots of wild flowers. The house was big enough to comfortably accommodate my family. The pond is so pretty and the swimming area was clean. It was lovely to wake in the morning to the call of the loons. We enjoyed our two weeks there.
This house was just was we needed. Just to get away from it all. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. We enjoyed fishing on the pond in the row boat. The only thing I wish I new before we left was there were boats but no life jackets other than that would love to go back again.
I love my time at this beautiful home and was sad it was time to leave. Life has been busy and the peace of this property is all they promise. It is the last house on the road. There is little noise from neighbors. I will miss my mornings in the 3 season room listening to nature around me. The lake is beautiful
Very sweet cottage, plenty of room, great indoor-outdoor place for younger folks, and older ones, like us. Small perch and trout caught right from the shore. We didn’t use boat, but where there’s little fish there’s gotta be bigger ones! Peaceful quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of life. Enjoyable for leaf lovers in October, too.

A well appointed home on a tranquil lake.
We enjoyed every bit of our stay. The home has everything you'll need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The home was spotless and just as described on the listing. We would defintiely come back again.
The water is clear and clean and the view is perfect from the master balcony, the deck, and the sitting area by the fire pit. We used the supplied canoe and swimming platform many times throughout our stay. The echo of the loons in the morning and evening was an exceptional addition to our stay.
The owners are very helpful and the entire stay was a breeze to deal with.

Great location
The location is perfect as it is pretty secluded and quiet set right on a good size pond. The house is very spacious. There were no blinds or curtains in the main bedroom and only light blinds in the other bedroom which made sleeping in impossible but we did a great deal of hiking so it wasn't the worst thing. The house was well stocked with whatever you need for cooking but the stove was very dirty.
We rented this house for a long weekend getaway with friends. It was absolutely beautiful and we had an amazing time here. The guys got to go fishing and we did a whole lot of hanging out by the campfire and grilling. The house is right on Smith Pond and the views are amazing! The added benefit was our friends got to bring their 2 dogs. We also loved that it was so secluded and private. The only time we left was to go grocery shopping and that was within a 10 minute drive. I would definitely rent this house again and I would highly recommend it as a getaway to anyone looking.
Beautiful leaves in reds, oranges, and yellows reflected in a gorgeous pond with a pair of loons slowly floating by....Perfection! What a gorgeous location! We had a great stay- the kitchen was wonderful to cook in- we loved the gas stove- bacon tasted so delicious with croissants in the morning! The house is large and comfortable- cozy couch, large piano, washer and dryer, tv, and wifi. We have to agree with other guests- the bed is squeaky....ridiculously squeaky.....to the point of laughter squeaky.....! Our other recommendation is to make sure all of the closet and crawl space doors are secured and closed tightly- we brought our dog Harlie with us- and she opened one of the closet doors.....
We did not get a chance to use the kayaks or canoes, but hope to use them in the future. We had a wonderful stay- Harlie DID NOT want to leave- Thankyou!
Beautiful location and a nicely appointed vacation home
The property is in a really beautiful spot: secluded with gorgeous views, quiet and serene.
The pond was warm and clear. A pair of loons was taunting our dog to chase them:). Lots of hiking trails around of different levels of challenge.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay full length we reserved. The reason was that the bed ( we only used one in the primary bedroom) was terribly uncomfortable, to the point that we couldn’t get much sleep at all, waking up every hour hurting.
After few nights we had to go back home.
This place is absolutely amazing and we would have came back in the fall: it would be magnificent there, if the beds were replaced
This was the only negative part of our experience with this rental.
We were looking for a private, post-seasonal getaway into nature in a house set up to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Everywhere views of this private lake! House has been recently restored with fresh tongue and groove natural wood ceilings, and creative tree limb hand rail to upstairs.
Big windows and sliding glass doors to large deck and beautiful views to this lovely, clean lake! Quiet only interrupted by loon calls or wind blowing through the many trees on property! Spent most time on deck, or on lake in canoe tied up on private lakefront. Enjoyed hiking at trails nearby.
Brought easy meals to prepare and/or reheat. Kitchen well stocked, appliances worked great. Wifi on main level helped us stay in touch in what would otherwise be the most secluded place we’ve ever stayed. Exactly what we were looking for. Thank you!
We were looking for a secluded little cabin on a lake for a weekend retreat, but what we got was so much more! The house is about as secluded as you can get, being located at the end of some winding dirt roads. It is quite large yet still very cozy. Very well appointed with everything you need to relax, take a row out on the lake, build a bonfire, cook some meals, watch the stars, have a BBQ, play some board games together. I can't express enough, how lovely and comfortable this place was! We had the best time away while feeling very much at home. Only minor criticism is that the large projection TV screen is quite old and has a burned-in star pattern on it and the streaming functionality was apparently not working. So we wound up watching a VHS tape of Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang as our entertainment for one evening. It kinda made us feel like we had stepped back in time to the "good old days" where TV wasn't nearly as important. As long as the price of this place stays reasonable, we'll definitely be back.
What a beautiful sanctuary for a quiet weekend away from the chaos of the world right now. The house is very comfortable, views spectacular and the quiet solitude made for a wonderfully contemplative time away from the chaos of the world. The ever-changing pond is mesmerizing and we are anxious to return to visit during warmer weather to explore the surroundings.
