Welcome to 'Hidden Creek Cabin', located inside the gates of Alpine Lake Resort and 30 minutes from Wisp Ski Resort. Live your best life in this beautiful location in the WV mountains. Snuggle up with a cozy fire and watch movies on the 55" TV in the living room while snow gently falls outside the windows. Whether you enjoy indoor relaxation or snow sports like cross-country skiing, sledding, or down-hill skiing, this is the place for you!

Cool breezy summers and stunning white winters await you in the mountains of WV! Enjoy a private cabin situated on two wooded lots with a babbling creek, which can be heard as you relax on the rear deck, running along the back of the property. The kitchen and dining area overlooks this scenic forest with a sliding glass door that leads out to your woodland paradise. The spacious living area boasts a wood-burning country stove set on a beautifully crafted natural stone hearth surrounded by floor-to-ceiling stone walls. Perfect for taking the chill off of a cool mountain evening or to cozy up to after cross-country skiing. Wood-beamed ceilings throughout the home lend warmth and character. Laundry, full bath, and exercise area also located on the first floor. Bathrooms and kitchen remodeled in 2014 and feature ceramic tile floors. Rustic timber stairs lead you to the second floor which has two bedrooms with cathedral wood ceilings, five beds, and a 2nd full bath. Spend the day on the 18-hole golf course or head down to the boatyard for a paddle in your kayak in the 150 acre stocked lake. Take a dip in the resort's heated indoor pool, or the swimming area at the beach. Break a sweat in the fitness center overlooking the crystal-clear lake. Working from your home-away-from-home is easy with high speed fiber internet at the 100 mbps service level. Other resort amenities include 24/7 security, mini golf, bocce court, hiking trails, shuffleboard, and a clubhouse containing restaurant & bar. Located just 30 minutes from Deep Creek Lake and Wisp Resort in McHenry, MD.

Resort access:
Guests are entitled to use of the sandy beach, fitness center, and heated indoor pool during their normal operating hours.

Guest access:
The entire house with the exception of the owner's closet and crawlspace are available for guests. The shed is currently not available for guest access.

Other things to note:
Lake is actively stocked with Rainbow Trout, Yellow Perch, Black Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, and Bluegills (fishing license fees are separate). Boating is available for $15 launch fee, note that gasoline engines are strictly prohibited. A single security camera is on the property for exterior automated monitoring only.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to recent changes at the resort, street parking is no longer allowed during the winter. Parking is limited to the off-street area for two cars. All others are subject to being towed by the resort.

This house was the perfect getaway for us. It's very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are newly remodled and very nice. The beds are comfortable and the host has provided some thoughtful extras. The lake is beautiful, and the resort is very peaceful. We'll be back!

Home was wonderfully clean. Communication was great! Lock wasn’t set to our listed code—sent message to owner and it was open in less than a minute! No issues at all. Only thing I’ll notate that I missed before booking…bedrooms are upstairs. There is a rail next to the wall but it is open on other side. Downstairs bathroom was perfect to have so our mom and aunt didn’t have to go upstairs each time. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again if we return to the area! Location was absolutely amazing. The kids enjoyed the lake thoroughly as well as the fishing and indoor pool! Go prepared to see lots of deer near the golf course right before dusk!

Quiet, Peaceful and Relaxing Family Spring Vacation

Well located in the woods, great location for nearby sites we wanted to visit. Nice Home Base to come back to after traveling around to relax and spend family time. We walked around the lake and had access to Alpine Lake Resort indoor Swimmimg Pool, which was a hit with the Kids. Little to cold for boating and lake swimming, available witin the community, as well as golfing. We would definitely come and stay again at this rental.

Perfect getaway for our annual fall trip. We appreciated the large kitchen and 2 full bathrooms. The house is well cared for and up to date. We would definitely come back! Note: the stairs are a little steep with no railing on the open side. If you have balance issues or small children, extra caution is needed.

Overall really good house and very pretty with snow. The house was clean, organized and equipped with everything we needed, my family and I had a very good new Years Eve and Day here. The roads inside the resort weren’t very clear or with salt so I would suggest calling maintenance to clear that since our car slipped a couple of times.

Quiet Family vacation

This cabin was wonderfully clean upon our arrival. The window AC units worked great, the ceiling fans were great, the large wrap around deck, furniture, and grill were all great. The beds were all very comfortable, shower water pressure was good. We found everything needed in the kitchen to prepare most of our meals in. Shop n Save was about 15 minutes away, and most restaurants are 20-25 minutes away. The pool in the lodge was massive, clean, and never busy. The gym had everything 2 teenage boys could need. Walking trails around the resort were nice, but the LAKE was pristine! We kayaked and swam. Neck deep water and i could still see my feet! Jumping off the dock was fun. On the positive side of our stay…the owner was very nice and answered all emails as quickly as possible. Also, the cabin was beautiful and clean, if not a bit smaller than the photos made it seem. The view was beautiful and the grounds breathtaking. Overall we had a great stay with just a few glitches. Unfortunately, a fair amount of the information the owner gave us was inaccurate. He told us to p/u the “keys” at the security gate. Security got quite annoyed with us for persisting. Eventually we called VRBO and were told how to get in. There are no “keys” to the cabin. I would think VRBO should have emailed us with entry info. Further, the owner believed there to be “passes” (plural) to the pool, which he said were on top of the fridge in an envelope. No “passes.” We did find a single swipe card, and we tried it and it worked. There was only one there. Also, the front storm door screen was ripped halfway out. Understandably, with the unit being in the woods, anything could have caused it. That did not enter into our rating. Also a statue on the porch was broken.In spite of the aforementioned we truly had a wonderful time. And would likely return and/or recommend to a friend or family member.
