We were ten men in town for a wedding and it was absolutely perfect in every way. Lots of practical amenities, lots of room, good kitchens, laundry on literally every floor. It's frankly an amazing venue for a group like ours. Thank you!
We had 3 young kids and 6 adults and the house was very comfortable for us all! We were able to navigate the metro easily and saw a ton of the city in a few days. The host was easy to reach and super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I highly recommend this property :)
Family trip to visit the Smithsonian Museums. Weather cooperated and the proximity to Potomac Ave Metro station was fantastic. There was no need for other transportation once we arrived. We rented a van for trip from BWI airport to the property and were able to park in front of the home. Price listed is for 5 people. More guests will cost you more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
I stayed here over a long weekend with my husband and 3 kids (7, 9, and 11). It’s challenging finding homes that are large enough for my family that won’t break the bank (we each need a bed). This Capitol Hill arts home met our needs really well. We took the train from the airport and it was only a block from the station. The neighborhood was very quiet most of the time (sometimes cars revving at night disturbed us). It’s an old home that has been carefully updated while maintaining a lot of 1920s charm like the floors, woodwork, etc. It’s a combination of 3 apartments, so there’s actually 3 kitchens but we used the ultra nice one on the main floor. Each person could have a bed, but we opted not to use the basement apartment because it was a bit mildewy and too far from the adults for a kid to sleep there (my son slept on a couch). I do wish the window treatments were better. I always check before booking, and while each bedroom technically had blinds, they were not suitable for the amount of streetlights and sunlight, esp to let the kids sleep in. Not a deal breaker, just a nice touch that I look for. Also, after traveling with 3 kids for almost 8 hrs, it would have been nice to have the door code and written instructions ready to go, instead of having to communicate directly with the owner. But the owner was very responsive, and I know people do things their own way and we worked it out fine. It was a lovely stay and we will be back.
