Panoramic View, Awesome Sunset - 3BR Condo on Folly River

Sunset 98, Mariner’s Cay is ideally situated in the southwest corner of the Mariner’s Cay compound giving guests a panoramic view of the Folly River as well as knockout sunsets from the wrap-around porch. Mariner’s Cay is a gated community of residents and renters, which offers guests not only a swimming pool and tennis courts but also is only minutes away from the beaches and town of Folly Beach either by car, golf cart, bicycle or walking. The privacy and lack of traffic is perfect for small children and teenagers to bike, trike, skateboard or just hang out.
Since Sunset 98 is a corner unit, the view and the light upon entry is one of those ‘wow’ moments. With a southwestern exposure, the kitchen/dining/living area is totally open to the Folly River and marshes, including the occasional school of marlin. The next ‘wow’ moment comes at sunset when one must get a drink, hurry to the balcony and allow him/herself to be awed.
As can be seen by the photos, the unit has a large, master bedroom opening onto the balcony; a twin bedroom off the rear balcony and a double bedroom in the southeast corner for those who just want to get away for a nap or a good book. The open living area has a newly installed flat screen HDTV on a wall pivot, ie, no messing around by the kids...DVD is also included. In addition, both the master and double bedrooms have flat screen HDTVs, and for those who can’t completely get away, wireless is available throughout the unit.

Folly Beach is a six mile long barrier island, and the closest beach to historic Charleston, South Carolina (15 minutes on the Connector) where one can find outstanding cuisine, the performing arts and Civil War history.

During summer season (May 23-Aug. 30), we rent by the week and our turnover day is Saturday. Check-in: 3:00 PM; Check-out: 10:00 AM

Wonderful as always!

Excellent property with fantastic views

We spent a week at here and enjoyed every second of it. The condo was very nicely equipped and maintained, quiet and quite comfortable for my wife and I. Everything went smoothly during our visit and the views from the condo are just fantastic and relaxing. We'll be back !!!

Beautiful setting and incredible view. Friendly swimming pool for the kids and easy bicycling to guarded beaches. Small kitchen but very well appointed. In a word: "Magnifique!"

We had a lovely stay. The unit is spacious and well equipped with everything you could need. The unit is clean and the owners were great at communicating with us. It is a short walk into Folly Beach, if you do not want to drive. This is our second time staying in this unit and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Quiet stay with wonderful view

The property was presented well. The porch views are amazing, especially at sunset. Saw dolphins multiple times during the week. The condo was clean, well stocked, very quiet, and comfortable. Within walking distance to Folly Island and close to excellent restaurants in James island. Highly recommend eating at Edison and staying at the condo.

Absolutely amazing!

The place was even better than we expected! The condo was easy to find, and it a great location. It was very clean, and very updated. But nothing beats the view... The sunsets and the dolphins swimming in the water right in front were the best part. I will be staying again, hopefully soon!

Beyond relaxing

My daughter and I had a great time at the condo. The condo had everything you could possibly need, including many pots/pans/dishes in the kitchen. The only thing we needed to buy was groceries. We were looking for a relaxing vacation & boy did we get it! Folly Beach was so nice & the view and sunsets from the condo back porch were beautiful! We even saw dolphins from the porch. We will definitely be back.

Very Nice Condo in a Beautiful Location

The condo is as described and even better than the pictures show. The view is beautiful, we really enjoyed watching the dolphins in the morning. It is well equipped with just about everything that you need and Lois and Gigi were always available if there was anything missing and to make sure we were checked in okay. Would highly recommend for a family getaway to Folly Beach! The town is very cute and just a short walk from the condo.

Such a wonderful condo! Our family enjoyed our visit very much. The views from the end/corner unit balcony were simply amazing. Not only did we enjoy watching the sunsets, dolphins & boats, but the various seabirds were mesmerizing! The pool was very nice. We appreciated the excellent communication from both the owner and the property manager. Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!

Perfect stay at Folly Beach

The condo was great and had everything we needed. You can tell this is someone’s home and has lots of extra touches throughout. The view from the porch is a perfect way to start or end the day. The location is perfect, you are a short drive to the beach to unload all of your stuff or you can walk (about a 20 min walk). Lois and Susan were very easy to communicate with and responded very quickly the very few times we needed them. We hope to be back next year.

Gorgeous water view from wrap around screened porch where we enjoyed coffee every morning! The 3 bedrooms accommodated 5 of us comfortably. Beautiful master bedroom with screened porch access. Well appointed kitchen with everything we needed. We spent most of everyday on our boat exploring the waterways. The dolphin put on quite a show for us several times! We were extremely happy with our experience here! Lois, the owner, was a pleasure to rent from.

We had reserved for the week of Christmas and arrived to find Christmas decorations throughout the condo. We only had one minor issue the entire week and it was handled promptly even on Sunday of a holiday week. Gigi was awesome to work with and very accessible during the entire week. Pictures could never do this justice

If I could triple my overall experience star status of this property, I would. The owner and housekeeper are a dream to work with. The furnishings are wonderfully comfortable and the condo extremely clean and well kept. The view was ever changing and amazing with the tides on the marsh. We watched dolphins, pelicans, egrets, wood storks, and other wildlife from all the windows and especially on the balcony seeing more than we did going on eco-tours in other areas. We originally wanted somewhere to stay while exploring Charleston, but we ended up spending a good bit of our trip on Folly Beach. Most of the restaurants on the island are on a short strip and within walking distance from each other and all we tried were excellent and had great, friendly, and laid back service. Charleston is a very easy drive from this location. There is some bridge construction going on off the road the complex abuts but there was no noise we could here from the property. It was quiet all day. We didn't avail ourselves to the pool or other amenities although everything was wonderfully maintained. One overlooked perk was the fact that each condo had one assigned parking spot designated for each condo, so after a day of sightseeing we knew we didn't have to drive around to find somewhere to park. We chose this location above the others available here because of the view pictures posted even though we didn't need the third bedroom. It was well worth it. My only issue is that we didn't plan enough time to stay there. I would definitely go back in a heart beat. Thanks for sharing your lovely condo.

This unit is at the far end of the complex - it's private, with a brilliant view of sunset that comes directly into the living room. The screen porch ensures that you can be outside any time of the day/night or season, and breezes cool the place regardless of how hot it might be outside. The owners have anticipated almost anything you might need. The kitchen, laundry facilities, and bedrooms are stocked with the basics, so you don't need to bring much. Folly Beach and Charleston are close by - with the beach and famous Folly pier within walking distance. Don't miss the dolphins when the tide changes. We're already looking at the calendar for next summer.
