HALE NIHI, Paia, Maui
Welina mai kakou! E kipa mai ia makou e 'ike i ka nani o Pa'ia.. Greetings to us all. Visit us to witness the beauty of Pa'ia...
Welcome to Hale Nihi Bed & Breakfast. We are located on Maui’s North Shore, on Baldwin Avenue in Historic Paia Town. Staying here at Hale Nihi B&B, you will enjoy the convenience of being within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes, with access to post office, bank services, and yoga studios, while also having the opportunity to visit sites such as the Great Paia Peace Stupa (recently visited by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in April 2007) and the world-renowned surf spot, Ho’okipa Beach Park, along with some of Maui’s most beautiful sandy beaches.
Maui’s North Shore offers something for everyone! Whether you are seeking the steady warm trade winds for windsurfing and kite surfing, the consistent ocean swells generated by storms far to the North of the Hawaiian Islands, relaxed times soaking up the warm sun on a quiet beach with calm waters or simply driving around exploring the many diverse micro climates ranging from tropical lush rain forests with natural waterfalls to the cool moon-like landscape found at the summit of Haleakala, Hale Nihi B&B offers a convenient central location as your base.
Paia has a rich history as a former sugar plantation town. Evidence of its history can still be seen today, as remnants of the Old Paia Sugar Mill still stands in the distance and sugar cane is still being grown in clear view. Staying at Hale Nihi offers you a glimpse into Paia’s history with vast and expansive views of green fields as far as the eye can see with the jagged ridges and peaks of the West Maui Mountains as its backdrop.
Chose either the 'Sunrise' or 'Sunset' unit located in the heart of Paia Town. The washer and dryer were advertised as free but I had to pay. They are quarter operated devices and quarters were not always available. I was instructed by the host to pay for use near the end of my trip. Located on a main road I became used to the noise after a few nights.

Thank you for your stay and feedback. The listing clearly states that onsite laundry facilities are coin-operated. During your extended stay, I nevertheless provided a substantial amount of complimentary quarters as a courtesy for your use. Due to the unusually high volume of laundry usage, I was unable to continue supplying additional coins throughout the remainder of the stay. I appreciate your comments and will continue working to ensure listing details and expectations are communicated as clearly as possible for future guests.
Enjoyed our stay at this great location. Close to Paia you can walk and NP and Hana highway and airport! Air conditioning and fans made it very comfortable. Nice outdoor sitting areas too.
I enjoyed my stay here. The price was fair, the space was clean and large enough for one, they had plentiful cooking equipment, and I love Paia - it's very walkable, less than 5min walk to a café, less than a 10min walk to a grocery store and the main downtown and 15min to the beach. Perfect! I'd stay again.
We decided to visit Maui without renting a car, and this place was the perfect location to enjoy Paia's beaches and restaurants. We took the bus from the airport, walked to the beach every day, and found plenty to eat and drink around town. Ride shares are available when needed, like when we were ready to return from Mama's Fish House!

Aloha Mark,
I am glad that you both enjoyed your stay here in Pa'ia!
Mahalo and a Hui Hou!!
Stayed in the Sunset part of this property and it was excellent! It was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was a well-equipped and the local market (Mana) is fantastic. The outdoor space is large and comfortable - perfect for Hawaii. Short walk into town and east to get to beaches and everything else. Can’t say enough good things - we will be back!
This was a great location for someone who does not rent a car as it is in walking distance to all the fine shops, restaurants and beaches nearby. The room was very comfortable. I opened the windows, enjoyed the breezes and never turned on the a/c. Easy to put together meals with ingredients from the Mana Foods organic grocery a short walk down the hill...All in all it was a wonderful two week stay.
My husband and I loved our stay; the location was prime for day trips for Road to Hana and Haleakala. It is within walking distance to a lot of shops and eateries on Baldwin and Hana highway, and even a small beach nearby. The space was clean and the kitchen was well equipped for when we wanted to cook an easy meal at home. Avis was communicative and made sure our stay was comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Maui!
My best friend and I came to Hawaii for my birthday. We love Paia but have never stayed there. Hale Nihi is great! Everything was just like it was described. Short walk to the shops, grocery and food. We will definitely be back!

Hale Nihi is situated perfectly just blocks away from the center of Paia
Clean and cute condo just minutes away from the center of town. Parking provided which is a huge plus in the small town of Paia. Perfectly equiped kitchen with amenities. Even in the perfect travel scenario, unplanned things happen, but the owner was incredibly accommodating and considerate helping to make our vacation one to remember! Hale Nihi is a gem in the North Shore.

Stayed four nights in the sunset unit. The space includes lots of natural light and is well stocked with items to support outings such as boogie boards, cooler, and beach towels. Avis was positive and responsive to requests. Our third person left a day early

Perfect place in Paia
We loved our stay in the Sunset unit. The studio has everything you need (full kitchen, AC, comfy bed) and everything you might want (beach chairs, cooler, private lanai with table and chairs). The unit is a 5 min walk of the restaurants, shops and bars of downtown Paia. And the owner Avis couldn’t be nicer. It was the perfect, relaxing place to stay and we will definitely be back when we return to Maui. If you want to stay in the North Shore or near the Road to Hana, this place is a great option!!

And I’m glad you enjoyed your stay:)
Come back to visit Pa’ia soon!
A Hui Hou!
The property is just as advertised. It is well located and we began each day with a walk to Baldwin and Baby Beach to see the turtles. Then we’d stop in town for breakfast and come ‘home’ and get ready for the day’s adventures. The beds are comfortable and the outside area is perfect. Thank you For your thoughtfulness in providing the details (beach chairs, coffee, etc.). We’ll be back
