Mary’s house is incredible. The location is outstanding for a relaxing, low-key beach vacation. The views are million dollar views and just like the Instagram photos of the house we found. You will be so happy you rented there. I hope to get back there soon!

Thank you Aimee for the kind words , glad you enjoyed your vacation, with a nice stretch of good weather during your stay too.
The house is in a fabulous location and Mary was an excellent host. The first floor of the house is in good shape and the deck is awesome. The second floor needs some TLC but Mary communicated that clearly to us before we booked.

Amazing Views!!!
The views from the living room and porch area are amazing. That alone made the experience worthwhile. It was also walking distance to a calm and beautiful private beach. The house was fine but shabby and not very clean.

the home is old, 70 years and for the most part, original. I will address the cleanliness with housekeeping immediately.
This was the perfect location for our family gathering! Incredible 180 degree views of the water and a view from basically every room! Plus plenty of room for a family of 9 to stretch out . Mary was fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for a better host! The only thing is that the house is in need of a little TLC but we knew that going in as the pictures were accurate. Thank you Mary for a great stay!

Glad you enjoyed, and Glad we could squeeze you in, we typically set aside 4 weeks after college tenants depart, to make repairs, upgrades and address any mechanical issues etc… knocking off items on our TLC list…. while balancing the requests of guests.
Congrats on your family members Graduation!!!!!

Overall, our stay was very nice. The house offers breathtaking views of the ocean and there is plenty of room inside the house. The outdoor space is lovely and Mary appears to have the largest plot of land in the neighborhood. We had a slight snafu entering the house upon arrival, but the owner apologized and made it right. We loved Kelly's beach, the restaurants nearby and our trip into Newport on a cloudy day. We had a nice time during our week at Bonnet Shores. Thanks!

Spacious house with great yard and excellent view over the water. All necessary amenities were provided by the owner of the house (ie. extra propane tank for grill, towels, toiletry, extra comforters, etc.)
Path from house lead down to beautiful rock ledge beach which was great for sitting and looking over water. Sandy beach down the street which can be seen from the house.
Neighbors were very friendly.

Great fun in the sun!!
Mary, many thanks for sharing your lovely home with us this summer. We had our grandchildren with us and my elderly mom and it was a fun time for all of them. The house is very spacious, clean, and plenty of room for sleeping. The yard was great for the kids to run around and play games. I have to say the view from every window is just spectacular! Morning coffee on the deck, looking out at the water was something I looked forward to while everyone was still sleeping. We also had great weather for the two weeks! It was nice meeting you Mary and Pete during our time there. Look forward to going back next summer.
Enjoy the rest of summer!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Fabulous views over the water.
House NOT very clean, dirty dishes/silverware. Propane fuel was empty. Grill needs a brush to clean it.
It's the little things that make the difference.....

i apologize if you were not happy with the cleanliness, this season we have hired a new housekeeper (after 10 years of having another) and it is something I will look into.
There are probably enough utensils to service 12 families (they just seem to multiply, and some are aging, not necessarily dirty) but I will certainly look into that. We start the season with a brand new grill and two propane tanks, in the 8 weeks , it gets heavy use, we have grill liners to help alleviate that, (in the future it may be something I have to ask guests to supply)and instructions as to where each guests can go to refill tanks (top of the street). We have also implemented a weekly COVID Cleaning this year to assure steps that the home is disinfected, as to its effectiveness , i guess i have to leave that to the scientist . All
Considered, we do hope you enjoyed your stay.
My friends and I stayed for a Friday-Sunday weekend. The place was great and Mary was an awesome host! View was spectacular, house was a perfect size and the back deck with a grill was an added plus. Only thing to note is that it takes a bit for Ubers to get to the house if you wanted to head to Newport or downtown Narragansett for the day/night (had about a 12-15min wait time) but it didn’t impact the weekend whatsoever. Thanks again for the best weekend, Mary!
We enjoyed our time at Bonnet Point very much. The house was homey and welcoming, clearly a much loved summer home. The location was high-end however the house was low key. The views were picture perfect. Accommodations suited parents, teens and grandpa. BBQ. Deck. All exactly as hoped for. Kelly Beach was incredibly close and inviting. We had to supplement paper goods and bring a drip coffee maker, which was fine, but good to know in advance. Roch’s market was great. Newport was very close as well. Thanks!
In Gaelic that means our refuge. That is what Mary’s home was. I was apprehensive since this was my first rental experience, but Mary patiently answered all my questions, foolish or not. We usually are in the mountains but Mary and her house drew us to the sea. It couldn’t not have been better.
Beautiful property , beautiful location we enjoyed it! The house was very dirty when we arrived which we were surprised about because the house keeping fee is included but didn’t let that ruin our trip because everything else was beautiful

Loved our stay!
The house was perfect for our family - which mixed adults and young adults as well as toddlers and two kids. Comfortable, spacious, a perfect beach home! The deck is beautiful with great lounge chairs and a grill. The kitchen looks recently updated and was perfect for cooking meals at home. The house is right next to Bonnet Point - and the younger adults jumped off the Point which seems like a local tradition. While we didn't have any luck fishing, it seems like a promising spot for fishing. The beach is just a short walk away and the house is stocked with beach chairs and a wagon for toting beach gear (or young tots). The beach itself is nice - the sand is glittery with quartz and there's a shallow wading area which was perfect for my 1 one year old. We enjoyed getting fireworks in all directions on the Fourth and building a fire in the firepit in the backyard. While the house itself is older, it's a perfect beach house with lovely modern updates. The views are unbeatable! Mary is a wonderful host - and the house had lots of information and guidance for the renter. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

Thank you for the kind words, Jumping off the rock is a "right of passage" so to speak at BonnetPoint, I'm glad your family took part in the long tradition. Sorry, it appears the fish didn't get the memo. The beach is great and its proximity to our home. We welcome you back anytime the calendar permits... enjoy the remaining summer days ahead.... Mary

Stunning Home, Breathtaking View - A weekend to be remembered forever
This home is immaculate! Very modern kitchen and bathrooms and well-adorned comfort and decor throughout. And the VIEW and LOCATION!! Can't beat it. Seriously cannot. It was a surprise for our guest of honor and she literally started to cry when she walked through the front door to see the home and the amazing ocean view it had. Anyone on the fence about this home needs a giant shove off :)

Breathtaking views and cozy cottage
The house looks a bit unassuming from the outside, but when you walk through the front door and look out all the windows along the front of the house you see an amazing full view of the water in front of you. The home is very comfortable for a large group to spread out. The main living area has a large size corner couch and dining table large enough for 8 people. The sun room off the side of the house also has incredible views and provides a quiet place with a couple of couches and a nice bar area with a small refrigerator away from the main room.
The kitchen is extremely well stocked with pots, pans, bowls and utensils to feed a large crowd.
We had a graduation party with about 40 people at the house. The yard is huge with ample space for games. We set up a 20' X 30" tent and had plenty of space to spare. The extra space for parking was a plus. There is a fire pit in front of the house near the cliff. We brought a pile of firewood and sat around the fire pit every evening.
There is an awesome three tier deck with a new large gas grill and plenty of comfortable seating
Three bedrooms upstairs share one bathroom which looks recently renovated. There were plenty of bath towels for us to use. The only problem we had was running out of hot water when everyone wanted to shower in the morning. There is one bedroom downstairs which was 2 twin beds converted to a king bed. The beds were an uneven height so it was a bit awkward for sleeping, but the beds were comfortable. There is one recently renovated full bath downstairs with a nice large shower, but a very small sink. The bath was in the main hall near the kitchen, so if you are sleeping downstairs bring your bathrobe!
From the house you can walk down the path to cliffs off the point or down the road to the beach. We absolutely loved our time at this home.

Thank you so much for your kind words. If I might add just a little explanation, this home is mostly original, yes, both bathrooms have been renovated, keep in mind it really was designed for a family of 5, with a first floor guest bedroom (my grandparents lol), the first floor bathroom with the spacious shower, was formerly a lavette with an oversized vanity, to accommodate elderly, I opted to add a shower and decrease the sink size in the same foot print that was a lavette (it is intended to be an EXTRA bath...the main full bath is on the upper floor). We have installed a new hot water tank, but with 10-12 people showering at once, I may have to revisit that.
The three level deck is fairly new, and we purchase a new grill at the beginning of each season. The parking is a plus since there is no parking allowed inn a Bonnet Shores streets. Great size yard for gatherings including tents. Washer & Dryer is in the basement, another sign of the age of the home.
AGAIN, I can't thank you enough for your kind words, I am happy your daughters graduation & celebration was success and a nice memory for all, to last a lifetime.

Not as advertised...
Appalled is the feeling when arriving at this property. Mary, told my daughter this would be perfect for my 93 yr. old mother, which was a necessity of ours when booking a house. We arrived to find holes in the walls, the only umbrella stand on the deck was broken hence, no shade after 11am and my mother was relegated to the house... NOT our expectations based on Mary’s comments. The first floor bedroom that we needed so my mother could avoid stairs, had a broken head board on the bed and was not able to used. The second floor where she had to sleep had ants in the bed. The wicker furniture in the living room did not appear to be new and was extremely uncomfortable. One chair was tiny and ripped so you really could not sit in it.
Nothing about this property was as described in pictures or by Mary... except the view. This property was pictured and listed as upscale and well maintained but was more suitable for 20 something college students. If we were allowed to view prior to booking, as we requested, we never would have booked. Needless to say our stay was not as we expected.

There is a first floor bedroom, with a full size bed, a large hole was made in the wall, from a previous guest, which Homeaway did not cover because they could not reach the guest, she has since disappeared, conveinently unreachable, and have caused us to raise the minimum age to 30. We placed a picture over the hole, temporality, although the picture looks out of place, it covers the hole. As for the bed frame, this is the first I am hearing about it, we would have come down and repaired it immediately, ALL GUESTS HAVE OUR PHONE NUMBER FOR SUCH THINGS. Their are several umbrella bases in the garage, the deck on the ocean side is tough, it is sunny and the wind is tough on umbrellas, awning and solar shades. With Tripical Storm Hermine in town, there would be no way an umbrella would have been able to be open. The Wicker set is new, and placed temporarily in the living room, until it finds a home in the sunroom, a sectional is definitely more desirable for the living area and is expected to be in place for October. Had we known of these issues during your time here, they would have been addressed immediately.
For any future guest reading this, please know, we implore you to call on us to make your stay pleasant. Because of Tropical Storm Hermine, I had been in contact with the guest numerous times, NOT ONCE DID THE GUESTS MENTION ANYTHING IN THIS REVIEW. The home is fully stocked with bedding, linens, fully stocked kitchen, etc... if you have a concern we want to know about it so it be addressed.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
What a beautiful spot to spend a long weekend with family and friends! The deck, yard, and views are to die for! We even had a front row seat to watch the surfers chasing the waves from Hermine. The house is an older property, but Mary has made several updates and has told me that she has some pretty great plans for future updates! The house is spacious and the beds were comfy! New pots/pans would be great, as it was a challenge to cook some indoor meals. Aside for that, we were very comfortable and content with this home. Mary was very responsive and helpful with answering our questions before & during our stay! We would definitely stay again!!!

Despite Tropical Storm Hermine, the weather ended up working in your favor and give you a little bonus whilst able to watch the, sometimes two dozen surfers right out front of the house. A brand new 5-pc set of pans arrived the day of your departure, it had been noticed and replaced. You are most welcome back in the future should you decide to vacation in the area again. Mary.

Sorry you felt this way. Unfortunately your trip came at a point immediately following three double pane windows had just been broken by our landscaper, causing a boarded up window, which caused the AC to work overtime during a heat wave, in the sunroom. We had two brand-new portable AC's on hand for guests use. Also, as for the original glass door knob(s) , they are not easy to replace and are on order, for which we ran down and installed a temporary fix. This years upgrades were a new stove top, solar shades in the living room, new rattan sofa set and a 2,000 square foot grass paver driveway.

Stunning location and comfortable house
A stunning location with a huge deck and comfortable rooms. There is a water view from nearly every room, and access to both a dramatic rocky shore (steps from house) and a wonderful beach (a short drive). The place is thoughtfully stocked with supplies and has helpful instructions (how to turn on the TV, etc.) We liked the comfortable beds, nice showers, and handy washer/dryer/dishwasher. The owner was very responsive. A great place for fun and family!
