Spruce Edge Guest House

Relax and enjoy this 19th century guest house situated on a fourth generation working farm.
Originally a summer kitchen, Spruce Edge Guest House has been meticulously restored, down to the original paint.

The space
In the original two rooms, you will find a downstairs living room with a love seat, soft chair, and rocking chair arranged around a walk-in fireplace. A smart TV and Wifi are available for your entertainment.

The kitchenette has been recently added and is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, 2-burner hot plate, single-serve coffee pot and small griddle as well as other kitchen essentials. A dining table seats four.

A full bath is accessed on the main floor through a small, added foyer connected to the living area. This foyer is the main entrance.

Tucked upstairs, guests will find 3 beds, including a king size bed and 2 singles (an additional cot is also available).

Guests are welcome to enjoy the spacious yards surrounding the guest house. A fire pit is available for use. Wood is provided. Farm lanes provide walking paths. Close by, Wolf's Hollow and the Enola Low-grade Rail Trail offer additional hiking and biking options.

A variety of eateries and shopping experiences with a local flair are within minutes of the guest house. Dine in, take out, or grab a coffee at Crossroads Cafe, Hometown Kitchen, Poured Out Cafe, and The Houston Cafe. Browse through Amish/Mennonite owned businesses such as Fisher's Housewares & Fabrics, Green Tree Hardware, and Singing Spring Foods.

Fifteen to twenty minutes to the north are Historic Strasburg, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, Strasburg Railroad, Sight and Sound, the Village of Intercourse, and a wide variety of Pennsylvania Dutch shops and attractions.

Driving south and east, guests will find Longwood Gardens, Chadds Ford, The Brandywine River Museum, and Philadelphia.

Wash your hands thoroughly after interacting with any animal (our dog and cats included). Provide adult supervision for children at play outdoors.
No fires may be lit in the living room fireplace. Use of flameless candles only. Candles provided on the mantle.

Staying here was a refreshing change from hotels. The house is in great shape, the full size refrigerator was welcome so that we could freeze our cooler packs, and it was nice waking up to a breakfast we could make from scratch with farm eggs and a delicious pumpkin cranberry loaf. Highly recommended, if you don't mind a bit of a drive away from town centers.

THE most adorable guest house ever!

This little place is so charming and the hosts went out of their way to provide a memorable time. We had plans in Lancaster and this place was just a little bit out from there. Next time we come, we re coming specifically to stay in this little house with no other plans at all. It was wonderful. We hated to leave.

Lovely little farm house with charming details in the best location!

Was looking for a country stay between Lancaster and Kennett Square, PA and found this gem. Remodeled historical house is on edge of lovely farm with a generous host providing many well-done and appreciated items - dairy products for breakfast and coffee/tea, a few sweet treats and super clean accommodations. Amazing!

We loved our stay at spruce edge guest house!! My husband and I truly felt like guests here and we didn’t want to leave due to the hospitality and generosity that overflowed from this place! Lisa and Brian were great hosts and I could tell that if we needed something, they would have done what they could to make it happen, but we didn’t need anything because it was already thought out! The location is great for exploring Lancaster or longwood gardens and I’m sure other areas if you wanted, these were just the two places we went. We loved the authentic charm, attention to detail, quietness and cleanliness here and hope to be back!
