The Loft at The Remington

Great place to stay! It was centrally located for our group’s outdoor activities. We were concerned about the restaurant/bar downstairs but it was not a problem at all. (The only downside was that there were only bath and hand towels. No washcloths were provided so our group had to buy them for our stay. If we had known this ahead of time, we would have brought them.)

Lovely

We really enjoyed this place. It was perfect, large rooms and clean. We will definitely like to stay again. Each room has its own private bathroom which worked great for our group.

Great place for large group.

We had a slow start as we were surprised that the location was over a restaurant and we had 25 steps to get into the place. One person in our group had mobility issues so this was a challenge. We were unable to locate a WiFi password and the place was set up for 8 people though our reservation clearly stated we had 11. Once the owner returned our call we worked through these issues. The place had many great things. They have 4 identical bedrooms with king size beds, TVs, bathrooms with double sinks and pull out sofas. This worked real well for our multigenerational gathering. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to prepare meals for a large group even though it was narrow. Charleston is a cute town and had plenty to do in a 25 mile radius. The restaurant below was quiet and didn’t bother us at all. The outside area was not very useable. Not well maintained and no outdoor furniture.

Terrific property with responsive owners

Great apartment. Rooms were spacious and having individual bathrooms was a plus. Well appointed kitchen. The perfect home base from which to explore the Adirondak region. Having a was here/dryer would have made it even better. The stairs doesn't make it a good option for elderly folks but it was perfect for our family gathering.

Long time friends decide to start a business! The Ziamandanis and Taylor families decided their mutual love of fine dining, wines and accommodations might fit in quaint Chestertown, NY. They purchased the Remington building in 2012 and began extensive renovations. While respecting the historic heritage, the building has become a thriving hub in this traditional Adirondack town.
