About this property

"Shore To Please" Wells, Maine. All the comforts of home. 3 bed, 3 bath, ac ++

We purchased this home in November of 2023 and live in it 7 or so months of the year and rent from mid-May through mid-October. Our home is on a quiet street about a mile from the ocean (as the gulls fly). Our patio and yard are a private, peaceful, fenced-in garden setting where you can always hear birds and sometimes hear the ocean. There is a small stream behind our home that leads to a pond down the street. The property is on a street directly off of Rte. 1, close to everything in Wells, and a great central location halfway between nearby Ogunquit and Kennebunkport.

Each of the three bedrooms has a full bathroom to go with it. The family living area is perfect for relaxing or watching tv on a 65 inch tv. The living and dining space are an open concept to the kitchen and to the patio through large french doors that let in lots of natural light. The kitchen is updated with freshly painted cabinets, brand new appliances, and beautiful quartz countertops and is equipped with all of the cooking tools you'll need. The patio just outside the living room has a fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs and wood and propane options, a 3-burner Weber grill, and an outside table with seating for 8.

As dog owners ourselves, we are a dog-friendly (2 dog limit) rental with a fenced-in yard. Everything in the yard is available for your use--outdoor table and chairs, fire pit, Weber grill, raised garden beds with herbs and vegetables (in season). We also provide 4 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and beach towels as well as bed linens and bath towels.

Shore to Please is in a convenient location in the center of Wells, and equidistant from Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. The property is about a 5-minute drive to Wells Beach and Drakes Island Beach parking. It is also 5 miles to Ogunquit Village and Beach and to Kennebunkport in the other direction. Within Wells, Hobbs Harborside, The Steakhouse, Billy's Chowder House. Congdon's Doughnuts, Mike's Clam Shack, Maine Diner, Batson River Fish Camp, Seacoast Pizza, Litchfield's, The Bitter End, and Feile Irish Pub are all 5 minutes or less away. Hannaford and CVS are 1 mile away.

We are local even during our rental season, and available for your questions and needs that may arise. We look forward to welcoming you!

An excellent stay for a group of 6 adults and one small dog. The property was very clean, well equipped and the owner was very responsive. The backyard patio was lovely and if the weather had been better we would have spent more time there. The location is great - quiet but close to everything. They even left a welcome gift! It was perfect!

We loved every minute of our stay! The house had everything we needed, the hosts gave very detailed directions about literally everything (how to work the garbage disposal, where to find s’more sticks) and it’s in the perfect location (a few minutes drive to all the good stuff in Wells). The attention to detail was exceptional, we had a warm welcome when we checked in, lights on, ice water for humans and dogs, a thoughtful welcome gift. This was great “home away from home” for my family with two kids under 5, my pup and husband and I. We are looking forward to our next stay here!

The property was perfect for our purpose of visiting the area and as a place to stay to attend a family event. The Host, Tom was always helpful and the details provided prior to our stay was very helpful for planning our outings. I also want to share his honesty when he found an ipad and watch that was left behind. He reached out and made great effort to get those back to my wife and mother-in-law. Can say enough about how appreciative we were for Tom to let us use his beautiful property.

Everything was just as advertised, it's a beautiful home and they have done a great job in making sure you have everything you need. The beds were comfortable. The heating and cooling worked perfectly as well as all the appliances. We loved the patio with the fire pit. They even had wood and fire starters there for us. It was so refreshing not to have to run around looking for firewood. They even had an herb garden that we could go out and grab a couple things on the days we were cooking. It's a great place and I wouldn't hesitate to rent again.

Beyond a 5 star rating! We loved everything about this property and its owners. It was a perfect house for 3 couples. The house is beautifully decorated and the gardens are gorgeous. Everyone loved the patio/firepit area, which was conducive to family gatherings. The information booklet, which I find non-existent in many properties, details everything you want or need to know. Communication with the owners was easy and responses were speedy. Pet friendly! We would absolutely book with these owners again.

We had an amazing stay in Wells. The location of this home is excellent, centrally located to all the tourist stuff without being in a high traffic area. The listing is accurate, and the home looks even better in person. The owner was one of the best rental home owners we’ve ever stayed for. Communication was excellent, and he was extremely accommodating. The house is equipped with everything you need, and perfect for our family and dog. If you’re considering booking, you will not regret it!

“Shore to Please” was perfect for our family. We had two small children and two golden retrievers with us. The fenced in yard was important and allowed us to relax and the dogs had fun exploring. The house is well stocked and has every last item anyone would need. My husband liked the upstairs office area so he could work in the mornings. The hosts were attentive and on the spot if you needed anything at all. It was so nice to have the patio area with a grill and fire pit. We found ourselves eating out less and staying at the house grilling instead. We are excited to return to “Shore to Please” next summer!

Wonderful stay. We’ve been coming from the Bay Area to visit our East coast family for a few summers and this was our most pleasant rental yet. Beautifully decorated. Lovely garden patio area. So happy to have all the linens/towels and kitchen well stocked with everything we needed, past rentals were bare and we had to use a linen service () for sheets and towels, and buy salt and pepper. The mini-split A/C units in each room were great to keep everyone comfortable to their own preference. The beds were comfortable, great kitchen and good showers but…. Really, the patio bird songs, chipmunks and frogs were our favorite.

Great long weekend

We had a wonderful experience. It started with having the lights turned on for us as we arrived late at night, followed by the pleasant surprise of snacks and wine. The house was clean, inviting and well stocked. We really appreciated the little extras like chargers, Bluetooth speaker and luggage racks in each room. Tom was very organized by sending a manual with follow up videos. I would stay here again!

Wonderful house and hosts!

The house and hosts are wonderful! They were so friendly and informative about the house and local area, they made sure we had everything we needed and told us to be sure to ask for anything else. The house is the best stocked rental ever! If you like to cook, you will find everything you need here! All three bedrooms had very comfortable beds, each has its own air conditioning/heater. There are no shortage of linens, towels, paper products, spices, staples, first aid supplies, etc. You name it, they have it! Their graciousness was heartfelt and truly appreciated. It’s a lovely, comfortable, very clean house with a beautiful patio and garden. They even allow you to use their herbs and vegetables! We couldn’t be happier with our stay at Shore-to-Please, and will definitely rebook next time we are coming to the area. Thank you, Tom and Steve!

Spectacular patio!

Very clean and beautiful home. Everything you could possibly need for a vacation rental -3 bedroom, 3 bath, outdoor shower, patio with 8 seat table and shade umbrella, plus both gas and wood fire pits and an outdoor grill! Dog friendly with fenced in yard and located in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. If that isn’t enough the hosts (Tom and Steve) are only a phone call away and would be more than willing to come over in person to address any concerns or questions you might have. Really cannot say enough about our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice vacation getaway.

Tom lived North of Boston all his life until November of 2023. Tom has been vacationing in Maine since 1990. Steve lived in upstate New York north of Albany growing up with a 2 year move to Cape Cod while in middle school. Tom vacationed in southern Maine since 1990 on and off and Steve lived in Portland, Maine for 5 years as a young(er) :) adult. After Tom and Steve met, they spent the Memorial Day weekend in Ogunquit and kept coming back, spending more and more time in Southern Maine. In 2018, we purchased a seasonal cottage in Wells and since 2018 we knew the Wells/Ogunquit area would be a great place to live all the time. So in November of 2023 we purchased this home in Wells still owning a seasonal cottage in the town just 2.9 miles apart. We love our home and our cottage so we made the decision to live in the house 7 months a year and rent the remaining months and live in our seasonal cottage while renting the house. Gives us the best of both worlds and allows us to call Wells home.
