Secluded retreat

Originally booked based on the proximity to mount Rogers hike and cycling. The distance to anything takes time, it is really secluded. That forced us to slow down and breathe in a bunch and ultimately made it easier to unwind. The cabin is wonderful and the smell of a wood stove should be bottled and sold. Perfect for connecting and taking in nature. Jen was a great host and super responsive.

Romantic Cabin on Beautiful Property!

My wife and I chose this as a honeymoon location. The cabin was exactly what we had both wanted -- beautiful interior and great surrounding views of the woods and mountains in the distance. Also a very private location. We thought the cabin amenities were good and enjoyed the lodge area by the lake and the mountain meadow and walking paths. The cabin area also had excellent weather, since it is located at higher elevation. It was 75 degrees every day for us in late June. A couple notes for renters - - If you are planning to walk around the property a lot, you may want to pack some pants since there are some itchy plants along the less-used paths. - the location was great, but you may be on a couple gravel roads to get to the property. My Camry didn't have any trouble with the roads, even in the rain.

First return after new owners.

The property is a little run down. All of the animals are gone, fields are over grown. The pond and the pavillion area has not been cared for. Yes the grass had been mowed but that was it. All of the chairs were dirty and covered in grass trimmings and dirt. Shameful. It was such a great place to sit and enjoy the property. The cabin however, was in great condition and very clean. That was the one thing we found satisfactory. We hope the new owners will take pride in the beautiful property they have and bring it back to where it was when the previous owners took so much pride in it. If so, then we will be back but not until then.
